KARACHI: A seminary teacher brutally tortured two students for taking one day off, SAMAA reported Wednesday.
Mohammad Arif, the father of Shahmir, 12, and Ashban, 11, got admission for his sons in a Madarssa located in UP Morr area of North Karachi approximately two months ago. Arif said that his both sons did not go to the seminary yesterday (Tuesday) and their teacher, Qari Basit, tortured them brutally.
Both students were shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Kyrgyzstan riots: One Pakistani student killed, 15 held hostage
A Pakistani student has been killed while 15 others held hostage during the ongoing wave of violence Kyrgyzstan on Sunday.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that there are about 1,500 Pakistanis present in Kyrgyzstan currently including 100 students; however he assured that efforts are on to get the students free.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Qureshi said that due to summer holidays, most of the Pakistani students were not in the country, however, because of late examinations, 100 to 120 students were staying back.
He said there is no confirmation yet of Pakistanis being taken hostage, however, some local channels in Pakistan were reporting that 15 Pakistani students were being held hostage. Qureshi said all measures were being taken to protect the Pakistani community present in Kyrgyzstan and that the Foreign Office was constantly in contact with the Pakistani ambassador in Kyrgyzstan.
The deceased student belonged to Jhang, Foreing Office.

Ohio State University says a worker suspected in a deadly campus shooting has died.
A new Ohio State University custodial employee who received a bad job evaluation shot two co-workers in a campus-maintenance building, killing one of them, and then fatally shot himself, officials said Tuesday.
No students were hurt and classes went on as scheduled.
The shooting was first reported at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Brown, 51 years old, was pronounced dead at Ohio State University Medical Center several hours later, Mr. Denton said.
One of the victims, building-services manager Larry Wallington, 48, died at the scene. The other victim, operations-shift leader Henry Butler, 60, was in stable condition at Ohio University Medical Center, officials said.

college student has been expelled after violent protests by students angered by the suit cuts with on campus.
Universidade Bandeirante (Uniban) said it had expelled the students, Geysi (Geisy, Jeysi) Villa Nova Arruda, 20, for “blatant disregard of ethical principles, academic and moral dignity” in a statement published in The Some newspapers sunday.
The dress sparked student protests on 22 October in this predominantly Catholic country.
A video shows Arruda sitting in a classroom at a mid-thigh length red dress, and six military policemen protects them when she left school with a white jacket. A line of students were chanting “whore”.
Another video shows a crowd and kicks to stop your car and lock it when I try to escape on foot.
