WANA: A suicide blast at a market in Shakai area of South Waziristan left at least eight people injured on Sunday.
According to sources, the blast took place at a market in Shakai, 25 kilometer north of Wana.
Casualties are also feared in the attack.
The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for emergency aid. Trend Pk

PESHAWAR: Four people martyred and seven others injured as blast occurred in a mosque in Suleman Khel area of Badaber near Peshawar.
Security forces cordoned off the area.
Rescue work started soon after the attack.
Sources told the explosion took place during Isha prayers.
Bodies and injured have been shifted to Peshawar’s hospitals.
It is the second blast today and both occurred in mosques. First suicide blast took place in Dara Adam Khel where 66 people including children martyred and more than 70 others wounded.

Suicide blast kills 50 in Darra Adam Khel mosque
At least 50 people have been killed and 100 others got injured when a suicide blast ripped through a mosque in Darra Adam Khel during Friday prayers. Tehreek-e-Taliban has claimed responsibility of the blast.
The blast was occurred in a mosque of Akhorwal, an area of Darra Adam Khel, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to an eye witness, it was a suicide blast and the bomber blew himself up before the gate of the mosque. Whereas, companions of the bomber, who were outside the mosque, opened fire. The mosque has been totally destroyed while nearby houses and buildings have also been damaged in the blast. Relief activities have been started and the injured are being shifted to hospitals of Peshawar and Kohat. A number of people are still trapped under the debris but efforts are being made to pull them out. At least 50 injured have been shifted to Lady Reading hospital Peshawar.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain has confirmed that it was a suicide blast. He said that war against militants will be continued till their complete eradication. He said that these attacks can not demoralize us.
Senior Minister Bashir Bilour said that suicide attackers cannot be Muslims or even human beings.

Terror strikes killed hundreds of Pakistanis in 2010

KARACHI: The government has failed to arrest the perpetrators of several terrorist attacks that claimed lives of hundreds of innocent Pakistanis this year.
In a surprising move, Quetta police Tuesday apprehended Allama Syed Hashim Moosvi, who was leading the attacked Al Quds rally in Quetta on September 3, 2010.
The year 2010 began with a suicide blast that killed 43 people in Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
On February 6, a suicide bomber ripped through the main Yaum-e-Ashur procession in Karachi, leaving 33 people dead.
A total of 39 people were killed in three separate bomb blasts in Khyber Agency and Bannu in February.
In March, suicide bombers targeted Parachinar and Lahore, taking the lives of 71 people.
Similarly, 14 people embraced martyrdom after being attacked by a suicide bomber in Mingora, Swat
FIR Peshawar suicide blast lodged
PESHAWAR: The FIR of Peshawar suicide blast has been registered against unidentified miscreants at Sharki police station.
The FIR has been sealed and investigation has been launched into explosion, police said.
Fight against terrorists to continue: Mian Iftikhar
PESHAWAR: Information Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Mian Iftikhar Hussain Wednesday said ‘nothing can scare us’ and that the fight against terrorists will be carried on.
“This is a battle between good and evil,” he said after reaching the site of suicide blast that killed the FC Commandant Siffwat Ghayur and his gunmen.
He said three people were killed including Siffwat Ghayur when the suicide bomber struck. ‘Siffwat Ghayur was a daring man,’ he noted.
Mian Iftikhar said the terrorists’ network has been unraveled, however, they are still present in pockets.
Nowshera blast toll mounts to 9
PESHAWAR: The death toll of Pabbi suicide blast has reached to nine when a sub inspector Ijaz Khan succumbed to injuries in a local hospital.
A suicide bomber blew up himself outside house of Khyber Pakhtunkhaw Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain in Pabbi on Monday. Nine people including four policemen were killed in the blast.
Provincial Sports Minister KP Aqil Shah said chief minister Balochistan was also in the area few minutes before the blast. However, he was remained unhurt in the incident.
15 killed in Mohmand suicide attack
PESHAWAR: At least 15 people were killed and 80 injured in a suicide blast in Mohmand Agency on Friday.
According to sources, a suicide bomber blew up himself outside political agent’s office in tehsil Yeka Ghand. Fifteen people were killed and 80 injured in the blast, hospital sources said. The critically wounded were shifted to Peshawar. It was not clear whether political agent was present in his office at the time of blast.
Insurgents kill 4 police in Pir Bala suicide blast
PESHAWAR: At least four policemen were killed and another six sustained injuries in suicide blast near Pir Bala police checkpost attack early on Wednesday morning, Geo news reported.
According to CCPO Peshawar Liaquat Ali, the attack took place as the miscreants rammed their explosive-laden vehicle into police checkpost, resulting into killing of four policemen and injuring six others.
Injured policemen and dead bodies have been shifted to hospital for medical treatment, hospital sources confirmed to mediamen.
He said terrorists were bidding to get through the checkpost into the city so it must be seen as a foiled suicide attack, which could prove even worse, in case they did not fail to get into city.
Martyred police personnel laid down their lives in the line of duty, he observed.
Complete police checkpost has been annihilated meanwhile, rescue efforts are underway, he told reporters adding the death toll may rise at any time.
Suicide blast also partially destroyed closely located buildings, he added.
