36b7ba23Beyonce Beyonce packs more girl power to her punch

TrendPK.com: The debut of the video for Beyonce’s new single, “Run the World (Girls)” may mark the ultimate manifestation the R&B star’s girl power agenda. With song lyrics that warn “Boy don’t even try to take us…” and “Who runs the world? Girls!” while featuring an army of women causing armed men to cower in fear, the superstar’s message is a natural culmination in a series of mega-hits dating as far back as “Destiny’s Child”.

2008’s “I am…Sasha Fierce” also had its fair share of lyrics aimed at (shall we say, overconfident?) men. “Irreplaceable” cautions a man not to underestimate his partner’s ability to find somebody else to treat her right. “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” reproaches a man for being jealous of his ex’s new love interest—particularly when he himself failed to “put a ring on it”.

Even as a member of “Destiny’s Child”, hit singles included a theme of women claiming their power. Lyrics to songs like “Independent Women Part I” (which featured on the soundtrack of “Charlie’s Angels”), “Jumpin’ Jumpin’”, and “Survivor” prove as much.

Beyonce’s new album, 4, will release on June 28th.

The Survivor finale should be red hot; but after a series of emotionally gripping episodes last night’s show was underwhelming. It was the calm before the storm or, if you prefer, the elipsiis before the exclamation mark.

Russell turned on Rupert so quickly I initially believed I had missed something. It was only after rewatching the episode that I realized Russell simply changes allies without much provocation. Presumably Rupert is another jury vote he won’t be able to count on if he makes it to the end.

I wonder if Russell could have voted Parvati out if she hadn’t won immunity. I now assume Russell and Parvati will go to the end together after all. If their alliance can survive Danielle, it can survive anything. But if Russell had any sense at all he would get rid of Parvati at the first opportunity, and so would everyone else. Parvati grows closer to unstoppable by the day.261c03a0f3cast 1 survivor heroes vs villains

The Palm Pre product placement was classic Survivor camp comedy. Parvati was apparently angling for a role in Palm Pre commercials, or perhaps just a free Palm Pre. Given that spoilers about this season hit the Internet before it had finished filming I was left wondering: Did Parvati have a little too much fun with the web browser?

Colby’s argument with his brother was the highlight of the episode. No one can get under your skin quite like family. He later dropped out of the immunity challenge after mere seconds. His decline continues to dumbfound me.

Russell’s wife was endearing. She wanted to add weight to the bucket so she spit in it. What, did you picture Russell marying a wallflower? She wrung her hair and seemed very competitive. I was happy for Jerri, who has made foolish moves in the game but always shows such lovable vulnerability. But it was fun to imagine Melanie competing on a future season as a way of building the Hantz legacy.

I was glad that Sandra got to see her uncle. Family becomes pretty important when your loved ones are in Afghanistan. The Blow Hole location was a fun one, and I’m surprised Survivor took this long to use it.

Rupert had plenty to say in our interview today. He was in full Rupert form. If you are a fan of Rupert’s, you need to listen to this interview.

He is the only guy who made it on Survivor for 100 days, joining Parvati and Amanda.

He said that people were annoyed with him because he would stop people from blaming others. He tried to make people look at themselves and some people don’t like that. Stephanie would blame everyone else but herself after challenges.

He figured that for Russell to be put into the top 5 villains after one season, he must be like Johnny Fairplay, but 10 times worse, “and he is”.e3fda4086ephotos survivor heroes vs villains

About that chopping wood that Jerri complained about? “I spent maybe 30 minutes chopping wood. Jerri just needed someone to complain about and I was that person.”

Did he keep the weight off? “I dropped 30 pounds during the game, then gained 35 pounds back on in 6 days. Now, I’m back down to about 215.”

LOS ANGELES: A lone gunman opened fire inside a Middle Eastern restaurant in the North Hollywood district of Los Angeles Saturday, killing four people and wounding another, police said.

The shooting took place around 4:40 pm (2340 GMT), said Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Rosario Herrera. The suspect, described by police as a white male in his 30s who was possibly Armenian, fled the scene and remained at large late Saturday.

Police had yet to determine a motive, but sources close to the investigation told the Los Angeles Times the incident may have involved Armenian gangs.

Three people were found dead at the restaurant and two others were taken to hospital, where one later died. The state of the survivor was unknown.

The victims were all men aged 20 to 25 years old.

No gap between the seasons facilitated the use of existing infrastructure of the previous season and the casting for Heroes VsVillains was also done simultaneously with Survivor: Samoa. Yes, you’ve guessed it right. The Survivor Heroes Vs Villains is shot at Samoa.

The new Heroes Vs Villains has two groups named “the Heroes” who are known for their integrity and “the Villains” who are known for their deception. All of them are former survivors. The cast was announced on the 36th People’s choice awards in January, 2010. According to Jeff Probst, the host of the show, the production initially selected 50 players form the past seasons and panned them down to 20 players leaving a place for a possible player from Samoa. Some of the selection were made whom the production thought would be exciting to see. Though the players are classified as the Heroes and the Villains, depending on their natural style, they can take whatever role which they feel would be best for the survival.

7eb4c86746winner Who Won Survivor Samoa, Survivor WinnerWho Won Survivor Samoa, Survivor Winner, “Survivor” has picked a winner for its Tocantins edition. 24-year-old cattle rancher James Thomas Jr. aka JT beat Stephen Fishbach and was voted unanimously to be the last one standing, becoming the show’s second unanimous winner.

His victory was topped up with the announcement that he is also the recipient of $100,000 in cash as a result of being a fan favorite. “I can’t help it,” JT said during the live reunion show in New York. “I’m happy – it’s probably the happiest I’ve ever been in my life, obviously.”

Stephen and JT had been bonding over the game because they “shared a brain, and have made every move of this game together.” But the finale on Sunday, May 17 seemed to favor JT in every possible way. He won the two immunity idols and got all the seven votes at the final tribal council.

Out of the four finalists, Tamara was a goner first when JT and Stephen decided to pick Erinn for the final challenge. JT was later forced to pick between Erinn and his buddy Stephen, but he preferred to stay loyal and chose Stephen to be his final competition. There was a slight friction between the two guys later on with JT regretting risking $1 million to pick Stephen. “I just feel like a fool, man,” he said at the New York reunion. However, host Jeff Probst read the votes one by one and revealed the true winner.
