Indian animation veteran Dhimant Vyas, who has contributed to a number of TVCs, animated series, and feature films with his outstanding animation skills, has recently joined Zynga Game Network, the gaming company famous for developing games like Farmville and Mafia Wars.

In the role of Creative Director, Vyas is currently based in Bengaluru and contributing to the art that is created by the team for various games made by the company, worldwide. He is also popular among the Bollywood lovers for his claymation work done for Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, an elated Vyas shared, “To leverage my expertise in creating fun and exciting games has been a long-standing wish for me. And what better way to realize that, than by working with the world’s largest social game developer. I am thrilled to be a part of the growing Zynga India team and looking forward to do some great work with them.

“We are very happy to have Dhimant join Zynga India,” said Shan Kadavil, Country Manager, Zynga India. “We are always in search of the best talent and look forward to Dhimant’s contribution to our expanding team.”

Zynga Game Network is a social games developer on the web. Zynga was founded in January 2007 by Mark Pincus and is named for his late American Bulldog, Zinga. Loyal and spirited, Zinga’s name is a nod to a legendary African warrior queen. According to some of the recent reports, the company has also recently acquired Newtoy, developer of the top game franchise for Apple iPhones, iPods and iPads.

f2ea953076awards Hrithik, Priyanka Chopra Rule At Apsara AwardsMUMBAI: Accolades continue to be showered on Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra as the duo were named as Best Actor and Actress respectively for their performances in ‘Jodha Akbar’ and ‘Fashion’ at the 4th Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild awards 2008 held here.

Actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan was adjudged the best director for ‘Taare Zameen Par’, with the movie also being named as the best film of 2008.

British actor Ben Kingsley was the star attraction at the awards ceremony held at a surburban hotel here on Friday.

The awards ceremony could not take place last year due to the 26/11 terror attacks

Other winners included - Anil Kapoor (Best Performance in a Comic Role in ‘Welcome’), Akshaye Khanna (Best Performance in a Negative Role in ‘Race’), Kangana Ranaut (Best Actress in a Supporting Role in ‘Fashion’), Jimmy Shergill (Best Actor in a Supporting Role ‘A Wednesday’).

National film awards 2009, Filmmaker Priyadarshan’s Tamil film ‘Kanchivaram‘, a period drama about silk weavers of the south, was chosen as the best movie at the 55th National Film Awards announced here.

Tamil actor Prakash Raaj beat off competition from Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan to bag the Best Actor award for his role in ‘Kanchivaram’, which depicts the lives of silk weavers of Kanchipuram during the pre-Independence era.

Raaj had earlier won the Best Supporting Actor award for his ‘Iruvar’ in 1998 and also a special Jury Award in 2003.

Veteran filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan has got the Best Director’s award for his film ‘Naalu Pennungal’. This will be his seventh national award.

He was named among the host of other winners of the National Film Awards announced for the year 2007 by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting here today.

Raaj had earlier won the best supporting actor award for his film “Iruvar” in 1998 and a special jury award in 2003.

Umashree got the best actress award for her performance in Girish Kasaravalli’s Kannada film “Gulabi Talkies”.

Kanchivaram” has also been chosen as the best film for 2007. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film depicts the lives and times of silk-weavers of Kancheepuram in pre-Independent India.

The best child actor award went to Sharad Goyekar for his role in the Marathi film “Tingya”.

Darshan Zariwala got the best supporting actor award for his role in Feroz Abbas Khan’s film “Gandhi My Father”. There was also a special jury award for this film, which explores the troubled relationship between Harilal Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi.

“Chak De India” bagged the award in the wholesome entertainment category and “Taare Zameen Par” in the family welfare category.

Playback singer Shankar Mahadevan has won the award for the song “Meri Maa” from the film “Taare Zameen Par”.

The jury was headed by Sai Paranjpe; other members included Ashok Viswanathan and Namita Gokhale. About 102 films and 106 non-feature films were considered.
