It appears as though Selena Gomez is finally over her good girl image at least when it comes to the television screen. The 19 year old is going to have a part in an upcoming movie that will have all of her fans surprised. It will be nothing like her role played in Wizards of Waverly Place.
Selena Gomez is expected to complete her world tour in South America in about three more weeks. Once she has returned to the States she will be in Florida with the indie filmmaker Harmony Korine. They will be working on the movie Spring Breakers which will also feature, James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens, and Emma Roberts.
The three actresses will play the role of friends who decide to rob the bank in order to pay for their spring-break vacation. Selena Gomez will be playing the role of a character by the name of Faith.
Selena Gomez has indicated that the character she plays is more tamed out of the three. However, she also admits that she does get a little crazy every once in a while. When they are on spring-break the friends get into just about everything. They party, drink, and even go to jail.

TrendPK.com:The Screen Actors Guild Foundation is proud to announce
Alec Baldwin as its first Ambassador, a new position designed to draw attention to the national non-profit organization and its ongoing work as a vital, humanitarian support system within the acting community. The announcement was made today by SAG Foundation President, JoBeth Williams.
Baldwinâs role as Ambassador will raise awareness within the acting community to highlight the Foundationâs philanthropic programs while encouraging the greater public to provide much-needed contributions. A new public service announcement featuring Baldwin will premiere at the Screen Actors Guild AwardsÂŽ ceremony taking place January 29, continuing the showâs history as a champion of the SAG Foundationâs mission to assist, educate, and inspire.
The SAG AwardsÂŽ and its sponsors have long supported the SAG Foundationâs efforts, among them the childrenâs literacy core program BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools), which engages 2000 actors nationwide in
reading to over 100,000 children each month. The SAG Foundation also administers the Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Assistance Programs, which provide financial aid to professional actors who are suffering from work-prohibitive illness or injury or are struggling to maintain the basic necessities of life. In addition, the SAG Foundationâs Actor Center and Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab are unique educational facilities.
âThe SAG Foundation is extremely fortunate to have Alec Baldwin on board as our first SAG Ambassador,â says SAG Foundation President JoBeth Williams. âHis talent, intelligence, and compassion will greatly benefit the countless working actors we serve on a daily basis. By accepting this position, Alec is already speaking on behalf of his fellow actor, and his involvement will do much to strengthen and protect the artistic community.â
The announcement also coincides with Baldwinâs two current SAG AwardÂŽ nominations for his work in the series â30 Rockâ, for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series as well as his role in the showâs ensemble.
âIt is personally important to me that SAG members support the SAG Foundation,â says Baldwin. âThrough my involvement, I hope to bring greater recognition to its philanthropic and educational efforts.â

Apple working on a TV set for 2012
August 29, 2011 by Trend PK
The latest iteration of the longstanding rumor is that Apple will get in to the business of selling TVs by building a digital TV based on iOS. That s according to multiple Silicon Valley sources cited by Venture Beat. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster told Venture Beat that he predicted Apple would produce a TV set by the end of 2012 or early 2013.Â
Munster, who has long been trumpeting the possibility of an Apple-made TV set, first floated the notion in 2009 that Apple would take a bite out of the TV market in 2011 by introducing its first television. Munster wrote in June that Apple s recently announced iCloud infrastructure makes it all the more plausible.
The rumor mill gathered steam again earlier this week when the concept garnered a brief note in a Wall Street Journal report on the challenges faced by Tim Cook, the man named to replace Steve Jobs as Apple s CEO: An immediate challenge for Mr. Cook will be to advance Apple s plans in what is expected to be a key market for growth: digital video. Apple is working on new technology to deliver video to televisions, and has been discussing whether to try to launch a subscription TV service, according to people familiar with the matter.
An Apple job listing in February added fuel to the fire by advertising for someone to work on “new power management designs and technologies” for use on various Apple products, including a “TV.” One of the critical aspects is the idea of Apple offering a subscription service for content. The device would presumably replace and offer more content that the $99 Apple TV set-top box, which already offers access to several third-party apps, such as NBA, MLB, and Netflix.
Recent reports have also claimed that Apple was on the verge of unveiling such a subscription service for video content. However, competitors like Amazon have already beaten Apple to the punch with their own streaming services, though they offer a smaller catalog of content than what Apple could potentially provide.
Apple rival Google entered the TV space late last year with combination of set-top boxes and TV sets that include its Google TV software. Google s strategy has been to blend in with TV content provided through a cable operator and let users execute Web searches while watching programming.
Mary McDonnell says the ‘Battlestar Galactica’ legacy lives on
TrendPK.com: Speaking of Emmy dress plans, nominee Mary McDonnell (âThe Closerâ) reports, âAs a matter of fact, Iâm in the thick of it right now. I think weâve found a stylist weâll be working with. As Iâm sure youâre well-aware, thereâs a whole series of events that go on in a 10-day period. Thereâs a whole process of setting it up now. Iâm really looking forward to it, because I love fashion, and I love getting dressed up. Or, I love it when people dress me up â put it that way.â
McDonnell is especially savoring Emmy recognition now â after years of being overlooked by the Academy of Television for her (and her fellow actorsâ) role on âBattlestar Galactica.â The thoughtful, culturally relevant sci-fi series did, however, win a 2006 Peabody Award.
âWhatever it was, at this point, it doesnât matter,â says the actress, who played President Laura Roslyn for four seasons. She shrugs. âThe legacy of the show just grows every day, the legacy of âBattlestar.â It was such a great thing, and people are falling in love with it as it goes further and further out into the world. In the U.K., they already loved it because they had an equivalent of SyFy (Channel) there, and they could download the show. Iâve been to conventions there, and I knew it had a strong fan base. But now that itâs airing on the BBC, itâs kind of going through the roof.â
