JI chief holds govt responsible for growing militancy

PEHSAWAR: Holding the government policies responsible for rise in terrorism, Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Syed Munawar Hasan has urged the rulers to part ways with the artificial terror war.

Speaking to media after inquiring the health of yesterday’s blast victims here, Hasan said the foremost priority of the government is to protect its citizens.

He underlined the need to take the nation into confidence about the US drone attacks.

Pakistan to get guided missile frigate from US

WASHINGTON: Pakistan and United States has signed the contract for the transfer of the guided missile frigate USS McInerney here on Tuesday.

Capton Abdur Rehman, defence Procurement Attache signed the contract on behalf of Pakistan Navy.

The $ 65 million contract will enable Pakistan to take over USS McInerney at US Naval station Mayport, Florida on August 31 this year after which it will be commissioned as PNS AlAMGHIR.

A comprehensive refurbishment of the ship will be undertaken under the supervision of US Navy which will be completed in Jan. 2011.

Succesful culmination of this contarct will also pave way for acquisition of more vessels of same class for Pakistan navy to raise a squadron of 8 Perry Class Frigates. This will greatly enhance operational readiness of Pakistan navy.

USS McInerney was the second ship of the Oliver Hazard Perry class of guided-missile frigates and first US Navy ship named for US Vice Admiral Francis McInerney (18991956).

In September 2008 the US Congress had approved selling the frigate to Pakistan with a delivery date of August 2010.

Pakistan is considered a major non NATO Ally and is able to receive older unneeded US military equipment.

Additionally, the 32-year-old frigate will be given a 65 million dollar refurbishment including anti-submarine capability paid for with foreign military aid provided by the U.S to friendly countries.

Pakistan will pay $78 million for 30-year-old frigate.

A famous website claimed that excessive use of medicines caused the death of Murphy, whereas police reject the claim of website. Different type medicines were found in the Murphy’s room which was taken in the name of her Husband and Mother- in- law, according to website. Murphy’s neighbors says that she died before taken to hospital. According to Murphy’s mother, her daughter was diabetic and was sick for last few days. Murphy’s death was natural, says Police.

According to reports, Brittany Murphy fired from an upcoming film that was shooting in Puerto Rico for being difficult on set and a detriment to production.

The former Clueless star has been dogged by reports that she was fired from The Caller, with reasons ranging from “she was difficult on set” to “her husband fought with the locals in Puerto Rico.” But while Murphy did leave the project, the 32-year-old’s publicist denied that the decision had anything to do with bad behaviour.

“The allegations currently circulating on the Internet about Brittany Murphy and her husband, Simon Monjack, read like a fictional plot from one of the 50 plus movies Ms. Murphy has successfully completed without incident,” the rep told OK! Magazine.

Megan Wants A Millionaire Killer

Megan Wants A Millionaire Killer, Law enforcement tells us they now have a person of interest in the murder of a Playboy representative who was found dead and stuffed in a suitcase in Orange County. The man is Ryan Alexander Jenkins, who was a contestant on a VH1 reality show.

Jasmine Fiore was found in a trash bin in Buena Park last Saturday morning. She was first reported missing by Jenkins on Saturday night. We’re told the Buena Park PD has been trying unsuccessfully to contact him and fear he may be on the run. A police official told us they fear the 32-year-old Jenkins, a resident of Calgary, may be fleeing to Canada. As the official put it, “It’s suspicious.”

Ryan Jenkins was a contestant on “Megan Wants a Millionaire,” which airs on VH1. We’re told he was among the final contestants. The winner has not been announced on the show, which is currently airing.

Since that girl doesn’t appear to be Megan, I’m guessing he didn’t win. But it would be a hoot if he did.
