Lahore: 2 killed in road accident
Two persons were killed while two others injured in a road accident at Lawrance Road, Lahore.
According to police, the accident occurred when an over speeding car hit an electricity poll at Lawrance Road. Resultantly, two cousins riding the car namely Hammad and Mohsin died on the spot, whereas two Waseen and Shahzad got severely injured.The injured were shifted to the hospital in critical condition.
9 dead in Bannu highway mishap
BANNU: At least nine persons, including three women, lost their lives in a road accident on Indus Highway near Bannu district, TrendPK.com New reported Friday.
Another two sustained injuries in the mishap, sources said, informing that injured persons have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Bannu.
Rescuers said that the accident took place due to broken highway road.
According to details, a passenger bus, bound to Peshawar from Karachi, met a head-on collision with a truck near Landi Jalander place on Indus Highway, resulting in killing nine persons including three women and leaving another two critically wounded.
Those killed could not be identified immediately, police sources said, adding that accident occurred due to broken highway road.
More investigations are underway, police sources added.

KARACHI: A bus with 40 passengers aboard overturned on Super Highway in Karachi, leaving three passengers seriously injured.
According to Motorway Police, the incident took place near Cattle Market. The bus rolled over following a collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Three passengers, including the bus driver, sustained serious wounds. They were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi.
Following the accident, traffic on the highway witnessed a huge traffic jam, which lasted for about an hour. Trend Pk.

GUJRAT: A motorcycle rider has been killed in an accident with a car. Angry people threw stones at the car’s driver.
According to police, a car smashed into a motorcycle on Bhimbhar Road in Gujrat, resulting in the immediate death of the motorcyclist.
Local people gathered at the accident scene, became angry and started to pelt stones at the car’s driver.

MADRID: Twelve people were killed when a high-speed train slammed into them as they tried to cross a railway track near Barcelona, Spanish media reported on Thursday.
Seventeen people were injured in the accident at about 11:30p.m. (2130 GMT) on Wednesday as the group of mostly young people were on their way to celebrate the annual Saint John”s Day summer festival.
Three of the injured were in critical condition, Spanish radio station said. Dozens of people had been attempting to cross the track at an unauthorised point instead of using an underpass on the line between Barcelona and Alicante.
Attabad Lake:Water outflow increases as sun goes up
Around 2,800 cusecs water has been discharged from the Attabad Lake, while 50 cusecs water per second is seeping from the spillway, which would likely to increase as the sun goes up on Sunday.
As many as 20 villages have been evacuated for fear of inundation, whereas 200 villages have been submerged so far. The melting of glacier pushed the water level up in the lake continuously; the inhabitants of the Tehsil Gujral are the most affected as 40,000 people have been besieged. Intermediate examinations have also been postponed in view of the imminent flood threat.
Sargodha: Two children among five died in accident
Two children among five died while another six sustained injuries in a road accident near Sargodha late on Saturday night.
According to sources, the accident took place as a speedy coach collided head-on with a truck.
The deceased include Ramzan, Muhammad Ali, Zubair, Aqsa, Fatima and Sami Ullah. The injured have been shifted to DHQ Hospital Sargodha, and Rurual health Centre Bhagatanwala.
Five dead in Sargodha road mishap
SARGODHA: At least five persons including two children died in a road accident near Sargodha late on Saturday night, Geo news reported.
According to sources, the accident took place as a speedy wagon vehicle met a head-on collision with a truck.
Rescue efforts are underway meanwhile injured and dead bodies are being shifted to hospital.
