Ameesha Patel to launch her own production house

Ameesha Patel, who has been MIA (Missing In Action) for a while, is now all set to turn producer. Yes…the actress along with friend Kunal Goomer is launching her own production house called Ameesha Patel Productions at an event tonight.

Ameesha, who started with a bang, courtesy blockbusters like Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and Gadar-Ek Prem Katha, has been going through a lean patch for a while. In the recent, past she has been more in the news for personal rather than professional reasons.

Hope the actress has a better innings as a producer!

Mallika Sherawat acquitted from obscenity case

This one goes way back, in fact more than four years ago, there was a case of obscenity filed against the seductress Mallika Sherawat. The case in question was filed by social activist Vinod Jain who claimed that the performance by the actress at a New Year party in ’06 was outright obscene.

The case which was filed in the Sessions court was dismissed stating that it was a classic case of morality issues. In other words, the performance can be deemed obscene depending on the point of view of the individual.

Though the actress is heaving a sigh of relief, Vinod Jain, states that he will not rest and will later approach the High Court with the same claim.

Jiah Khan signs two Hollywood films

She made her debut in Bollywood by featuring opposite none other than Amitabh Bachchan himself. Jiah Khan, did quite a bold act of a teenage seductress in Nishabd and followed it up by featuring with another big superstar, Aamir Khan, in Ghajini. And now she is back looking hot as ever in the multi-starrer Housefull.

Talking about the reactions she has been getting post the release, Miss Khan, says “It’s been amazing, my life has completely changed after this film. People are appreciating the song featuring me. I see people laughing in the cinemas at the jokes, and whistling at the song.”

Jiah’s career surely seems to be touching an all time high as she just got a huge hit in the form of Housefull, and also the actress has now bagged not one but two Hollywood films.

Talking about the Hollywood projects Jiah says “Yes I am doing the two films but I can’t talk much about them except that one of them is an adaptation of a classic English play.” Well we do hope she isn’t heading towards moving base. In all, it seems like a good phase in the actress’ life. We wish her luck!
