Strike in Khuzdar against murder of BNP leader
QUETTA: A shutter-down strike is being observed in Khuzdar district of Balochistan on Monday against the murder of Balochistan National Party (BNP) leader Abdul Latif Shehwani.
Shehwani was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Khuzdar on Sunday night.
On the appeal of BNP, all small and main business centers are closed in the city while traffic is also below normal. TrendPK

SSGC may cut gas supply to domestic consumers

KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has hinted at reducing gas supply to domestic consumers to overcome a daily shortfall of 300 million cubic feet.
SSGC officials say they appealed to the city’s industrialists to reduce gas usage by 20 per cent on voluntarily basis.
“If the industrialists did not cut the usage, SSGC would be forced to carry out load shedding for domestic consumes,” they warned.
According to information, more than 80 percent of the city’s industries have been preferring gas over furnace oil or diesel because of its low cost. Trend Pk

KARACHI: The number of dengue patients is increasing in the city as 23 more patients were brought to various hospitals over the last 24 hours, SAMAA learnt Wednesday.
Out of 506 patients who were brought to different hospitals, 339 tested positive for dengue virus, said Secretary Health Syed Hasham Raza.
Four people affected have died while 57 patients are under treatment at different hospitals. SAMAA

QUETTA: Balochistan’s Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani has said that an initial estimate of the losses caused by the floods is between Rs80 o Rs90 billions.
Speaking to media persons in Dera Murad Jamali today, he said that revenue teams could not reach out to several areas, which continue to remain under water.
