Each Corrupt Department to Be Grilled: Rehman Malik
KARACHI, News Trends: Federal Interior Minister Rehman A Malik said he received no order regarding bringing former President Gen (rtd) Pervez Musharraf back home through Interpol.
This he said while talking to journalists at Karachi airport before leaving for Doha to attend a session of Interpol’s general assembly.
He said that if courts directed him regarding repatriation of Pervez Musharraf, he would comply.
‘I will apprise Interpol’s General Assembly about the loss Pakistan incurred in the course of war against terrorism, as the country has suffered loss worth over 140 billion dollars thus far,’ he remarked.
Rehman Malik stressed that bribery and other modes of corruption would not be tolerated in departments of FIA and police, adding a new website would soon be made for the eradication of corruption.
He added public dealing should be corruption-free.
Malik lauded the role of Supreme Court (SC) regarding corruption.
Replying a question regarding Shershah bridge collapse in Karachi, he vowed that all culprits involved would soon be arrested.
Responding a question in connection with Musharraf’s repatriation, he said if this is needed, he has no objection.
2500 Shops Gutted in Arson Attacks: Karachi
KARACHI, Pakistan News: Around 2500 shops have been gutted in arson incidents in the business district of Karachi after Youm-e-Ashur suicide attack at a mourning procession in the metropolis that killed 40 people and injured several others.
The fire tenders still fighting blazes raging in the area located largest wholesale markets of the country.
Several vehicles were also set on fire after the bombing.
A traders body leader Fahim Noori has said the traders have suffered rs 20 to 30 billion losses in arson attacks in which 1500 to 3000 shops were set on fire by the miscreants.
Fahim Noori posed question the authorities, who provide such dangerous inflammable material to the miscreants, which rapidly spread the fire.
President Karachi Chamber has called a meeting this afternoon to set strategy, he said.

Terrorists Want to Disrupt Peace in Country: PM Gilani
GWADAR, Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the terrorists are serving as the stumbling block in the way for the national progress.
Talking to media, he appealed to the citizens of Karachi to stay calm and said that terrorists have no religion, adding we would accomplish the terrorists’ agenda by disrupting the peace of the city.
The PM Gilani said the government enjoys support from the political and religious leadership against the terrorism, adding the terrorists are working as the speed breaker for the national development.
The Prime Minister said the Pak Army jawans are sacrificing their lives for national security and the eradication of terrorists.
