Pakistan women’s cricket team beats Japan, reaches finals

GUANGZHOU: In the Asian Games, Pakistan’s female cricketers beats Japan by nine wickets, qualifying for the finals, Trend Pk learnt Thursday.
Japan won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the team only managed 61 runs in 20 overs on the loss of seven wickets. Sana Gulzar of Pakistan took two wickets. Pakistan easily completed it’s target on the loss of one wicket. Javeria Wadood made 29 runs, whereas Nida Rashid made 27 runs.
Pakistan will now compete with Bangladesh in the finals tomorrow. Trend Pk

Hammad steers Pakistan into World Cup final, Pakistan Under-19s 213/6 (48.3 ov) Hammad Azam, 92

Pakistan made to the finals by trouncing Winddies by four wickets.
Pakistan has reached the finals in Under19 World Cup by beating West Indies with 4 wickets in the semi final.
Batting first, West Indies set a target of 212 wickets at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs.
Pakistan lost its four players on just 49 runs; however, Hammad Azam and Rameez Aziz took the scorecard to 139 with Hammad 92 and Rameez 39. Hammad Azam played a remarkable innings of 92. Muhammad Waqas played beautifully and took the score to 203 nut was caught at 30. The national team managed to achieve the target of 213 in 49 overs. Pakistan would face either Australia or Sri Lanka, any team that would qualify in the semi finals.
