DHAKA: Shahriar Nafees smashed a brisk half-century and Suhrawadi Shuvo grabbed three wickets as Bangladesh raced to a seven-wicket victory over New Zealand in the third one-day international on Monday.
The left-handed opener cracked 13 fours in his 73 to help Bangladesh achieve a 174-run target with 10 overs to spare for a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Left-arm spinner Shuvo, playing only his fifth one-dayer, finished with 3-14 off 10 disciplined overs to restrict the tourists to a modest total after the hosts elected to field on a slow track.
“Suhrawadi bowled well and we kept taking wickets. Our opening batsmen then batted solidly and gave us a good start, that’s what we needed,” said Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan.
Bangladesh, who had won just one of their 17 one-day internationals against New Zealand before this series, were given a

SOUTHAMPTON: Eoin Morgan’s latest match-winning Rose Bowl century saw England to a crushing 121 run-victory against Pakistan as they took the five-match one-day series 3-2 on Wednesday to end a scandal-marred season.
Success meant England had won consecutive Test (3-1), Twenty20 (2-0) and limited overs series against a Pakistan side whose tour was overshadowed by ‘spot-fixing’ allegations.
Man-of-the-match Morgan made 107 not out in a total of 256 for six after England had slumped to 47 for three following captain Andrew Strauss’s decision to bat first.
Former Ireland left-hander Morgan had previously made an unbeaten 103 as England beat Australia by four wickets in the first one-dayer at the Rose Bowl in June.
Pakistan were eventually dismissed for 135 with 13 overs still left, seamer Stuart Broad taking three for 25 and off-spinner Graeme Swann

“The ECB is seeking clarification and details from the ICC and the ECB board will meet later today to discuss the matter,” the board said in a statement on Saturday.
Earlier ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said the investigation followed a report in the Sun newspaper which said bookmakers knew details of Pakistan’s innings before the match began.
