KSE continues to rise

KSE witnessed bullish trend on Friday as 100-Index crossed 12,500 points level.
Business activity started with positive note, as investors neglected the deteriorated law and order situation in Karachi. Cement, fertilizer and chemical sectors witnessed brisk activity. At the end of the day, KSE closed at 12,533 points which was the highest level from last 21 months.
Palm oil price climbs to highest in more than two years
Palm oil futures climbed to the highest level in more than two years on speculation growth in supplies of cooking oils may fail to match the increase in demand from China, Pakistan and Europe.
The January-delivery contract on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange rose as much as 0.5 percent to 3,106 ringgit ($1,003) a metric ton and ended the morning session at 3,100 ringgit. The most-active contract closed at 3,092 ringgit yesterday, the highest level since July 24, 2008.
Palm oil exports from Malaysia, the worlds second- biggest grower, have risen 6 percent in the nine months through September, while output has risen 1.6 percent to 12.7 million tons, according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board.

KARACHI: Today marks the 12th death anniversary of Hakim Mohammed Said. He was a renowned scholar, and philanthropist of Pakistan and a former Governor of Sindh. He established Hamdard Foundation in 1948. Hakim Mohammed Said wrote or compiled about 200 books. Hakim Mohammed Said was murdered on October 17, 1998.
Hakim Mohammed Said was a man of vision and was endowed with many virtues. He was a multifaceted personality, a physician, author of books, and editor of journals, bibliophile, an organizer, an idealist, an innovator, educationist and above all a patriot of the highest order.
He sacrificed his life in the service of the nation. In a life span of 78 years he made enormous contributions in the field of health, science, education and culture, which has left an imprint on the course of history for generations to follow.

ISLAMABAD: Meteorological Department on Monday has forecast more rain with lightening in Islamabad and some other parts of the country. While hot and dry weather was predicted for rest of the areas.
According to Met offices, more rain expected during next 24 hours in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.
Some areas of Islamabad, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan and Malakand Division received rain during last 24 hours.
Heaviest rain of 66 millimeter was recorded in Muzaffarabad. While Turbat experienced the highest temperature of 42 degree centigrade. SAMAA

Cloudy weather with light rain forecast in Karachi
KARACHI: The Metrological Department has forecast cloudy/windy weather with light rain / drizzle for Karachi on Tuesday with maximum temperature range of 32 to 34 degree centigrade.
Cloudy/windy weather with light rain/drizzle has been forecast for Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions, while Sukkur and Larkana will brave very hot and dry weather.
On Monday, the highest maximum temperature of 46.2 degree centigrade was recorded at Dalbandin and lowest minimum of 17.5 at Kalat Hill Station.
