He has played 16 matches out of last 20 matches of NZ team and also maintained a decent economy rate. He is also handy in the lower batting order and scored two half centuries for Kiwis. In last 16 ODIs New Zealand has lost 14 games. New Zealand will miss spinner in the first game.

Lahore: 2 killed in road accident

Two persons were killed while two others injured in a road accident at Lawrance Road, Lahore.

According to police, the accident occurred when an over speeding car hit an electricity poll at Lawrance Road. Resultantly, two cousins riding the car namely Hammad and Mohsin died on the spot, whereas two Waseen and Shahzad got severely injured.The injured were shifted to the hospital in critical condition.

Ghazi Baba’s shrine attacked, 3 killed

PESHAWAR: Gunmen attacked the shrine of Sufi saint Ghazi Baba on Tuesday and shot dead three of its caretakers in Badbeer, Peshawar, said police.

A passerby has also been injured.

Suicide bombers have attacked Sufi shrines here in the past.

The bodies of the caretakers and injured were taken to the hospital soon after the attack. TrendPK

According to the hospital’s administration, the fire broke out due to a short circuit.

Efforts are being made to control the blaze, which is still raging.

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Eight members of a family fell unconscious after consuming contaminated burgers at a local restaurant here on Friday.

They were immediately shifted to Sheikh Zaid Hospital, where they were given emergency medical aid.

According to the hospital’s administration, five people have been discharged after first aid and three are still under treatment.

KARACHI: At least two persons were killed and five others sustained injuries in a clash over sacrificial animals skins in Lyari on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha.

According to police, six armed miscreants opened fire on local residents near Niazi Chowk of Daryabad Kalri area in Lyari while they were busy slaughtering sacrificial animals. hHavy firing of terrorists created unrest in the area.

Two persons, including Muhammad Fayyaz, died on the spot and five others including Raheel Ahmad Khan, Falak Noor Khan, Asadullah and Eida sustained injuries.

After receiving information, heavy contingents of police and rangers reached the scene and barricaded the area and shifted all the injured and dead bodies to Civil Hospital.

Govt decides to implement Flood Tax

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to impose Flood Tax for the rehabilitation of flood affected areas in the country. Sources informed SAMAA on Thursday that the new tax would be valid till 2020.

The flood tax would be implemented on individuals and institutions that earn Rs. 0.3 million per month.

The government would generate Rs. 50 to 60 billion per year from the new tax.

The suggestion of introducing new tax was made by the finance ministry; provinces have been consultated on the issue. SAMAA

LAHORE: Qari Abdullah, who attacked the Jinnah Hospital, has surrendered, SAMAA learnt Thursday.

Four policemen were martyred in the hospital attack. He along with his aides attacked the hospital to save the terrorists under the treatment in Jinnah Hospital.

Qari Abdullah telephoned police and offered his self arresting.

Qari Abdullah has been arrested from Nawako. The law enforcement agencies have taken to Qari to unidentified location for investigation. SAMAA
