Muhammad Ilyas appears before PCBs disciplinary committee
Muhammad Ilyas appeared before two-member disciplinary committee headed by Sultan Rana at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and presented his stance.
Talking to media after the meeting, Muhammad Ilyas said that he answered committee’s queries and the proceedings remained positive.
He said decision regarding appeal would be taken after receiving decision of the committee.

The US Ambassador, Cameron Munter, called on PM Gilani in Islamabad today. During the meeting The PM said that the government’s response on WikiLeaks revelations has been already shown and Pakistan would never compromise on national interests.

N, Q jointly nominate names for parliamentary committee
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) have agreed to nominate Mehtab Khan and Ishaq Dar as members of parliamentary committee for the judicial commission (JC).
In PML-Ns parliamentary party meeting in Islamabad, it is decided to back names of Ch. Shujaat and Ghauq Bakhsh Mehar for parliamentary committee. It is decided in the meeting that pressure would be put on the government to contain inflation and corruption. A resolution has been agreed upon in the meeting that the government should take steps to decrease prices of petroleum products and daily items.
Justice (r) Ch. Ijaz nominated as Judicial Commission member
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has nominated Justice (r) Chaudhry Ijaz as member of the Judicial Commission for two years.
Earlier, Justice (r) Ali Hussain Qazalbash was nominated as member of the commission but he resigned on Tuesday due to bad health.
The CJP has called the meeting of Judicial Commission on November 06 to discuss the names of judges to be appointed for superior judiciary.
Karachi: KESC assures of reduced power outages
The governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ibad Khan has directed the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) to work on emergency basis to ensure continuous power supply to the industrial zones of the city while the industrial zones have postponed tomorrow’s strike, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
Expressing his discontent and displeasure over the lengthy power outages in the industrial areas the governor directed the KESC officers and other concerned authorities to work on emergency basis to provide the industrial zones with uninterrupted power supply. the governor said during the meeting that the matter of electricity shortage should be resolved in order to save the country from incurring huge economic losses. the governor also directed the KESC to present next six months plan for power supply, keeping in view all the needs. The MD of SSGPL, who also participated in the meeting, assured the governor of enhanced supply of gas to the KESC on priority basis whereas the MD KESC also assured the governor of reduced power outages in the industrial as well as in the residential areas. During the meeting the governor also contacted the federal petroleum minister and the federal finance minister for increased supply of furnace oil to the KESC so as to make it sure that the length of the power outages is curtailed. The federal ministers also assured the governor of immediate and effective steps in this regard.

The meeting will take place on Monday at 11am.
The provincial cabinet will mull over a plan to provide medical aid to Hepatitis-hit patients under the Benazir Income Support Program.

KARACHI: The chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, Pir Pagaro, has called the meeting of all factions of Pakistan Muslim League at Kingri House on October 29, SAMAA reported Saturday.
Sources told that invitations have been sent to all factions of Pakistan Muslim League including Nawaz league.
Earlier, it was decided that the meeting would be held in Lahore where Pir Pagaro had to chair but now all the leaders of Muslim League will attend the meeting at Kingri House, Karachi. SAMAA
Sheikh Rasheed isnt aspirant of premiership: Pagara
All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief Pir Pagara said that season of sacrifices would come very soon. He said he will call back the PM when he would be tired.
Pagara met Awami Muslim League chief Shiekh Rasheed at Kingri House Karachi. Talking to media after the meeting he said that Sheikh Rasheed was not the candidate for the premiership. He said that he doesnt give sacrifices, instead he takes sacrifices. He said that he would personally invite PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to join the APML.
President convenes meeting of PPP MPs
President Asif Ali Zardari has convened a meeting of PPP MPs for Monday to discuss strategies to react on rumors of changes in the present set-up and confrontation with SC.
PPPs MNAs and Senators besides Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani will be attending the meeting which is to be held here at the Presidency. Main agenda of the meeting is to review the overall political situation in the country.
The meeting will also contemplate tabling of a resolution in connection with Presidents immunity in the National Assembly.
