Security forces have foiled terrorist attack on 5 check post in Mohmand Agency, trendpk.com.Com reported on Friday.

According to official sources more than 150 terrorists attacked 5 check posts of Mohmand Agency early in the morning in which 3 officials martyred and 12 others sustained injuries. At least 24 terrorist were killed and 10 injured in retaliation.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and started the search operation.

Inmate died in Jhang jail

JHANG: An inmate died on Friday in the district jail Jhang due to lack of medical facilities.

Sources told that Qaisar Abbas was arrested by Shor Kot police and was sent to the district jail.

Abbas was not feeling well in the morning but he was not provided timely medical treatment in the jail therefore he died.

His relatives alleged that Abbas died because of police torture. SAMAA

Women, children most vulnerable in flood crisis

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s displaced flood victims say a lack of clean water and high temperatures are causing illnesses sweeping through relief camps with children most at risk.

Almost five million people are currently without shelter following devastating flooding sparked more than a month ago by heavy monsoon rains.

“They are scared, traumatized,” said Bibi Luqmania, 30, whose four children live with her in a tent donated by the charity Islamic Relief. “And it’s so hot in the tent, they cannot stand it. It becomes like an oven during the day.”

Luqmania is one of 400,000 people displaced by the flooding in the Khyber-Pukhtunkwa district of Nowshera, and now lives in the Khandar 1 camp established at the Khandar Technical College.

GHOTKI: Atleast seven people were killed and 23 injured in a tribal dispute in Ali Nawaz Sher village, Ghotki, said sources Thursday.

According to sources, an armed clash erupted between two tribes, Lund and Shar, in the Khenju area over motorbike snatching that has been continuing for five days.

Over one hundred members from Lund tribe attacked Ali Nawaz Sher village early in the morning, killed seven people of Shar tribe and injured 23. SAMAA

Bangladesh’s highest fourth-innings total is 413, against Sri Lanka in Dhaka in 2008.
Junaid Siddique (38 not out) and Aftab Ahmed (26) steadied the Bangladeshi innings with a 54-run stand for the third wicket before Bresnan grabbed two wickets in his three overs.
The England paceman had Ahmed caught behind then bowled Mohammad Mahmudullah for five runs to reduce the hosts to 105-4.
Swann, who bowled Tamim Iqbal in the morning session, got his second wicket when he removed skipper Shakib Al Hasan, judged leg-before while attempting to sweep. TV replays, however, suggested the ball came off the gloves.
The England spinner has so far captured seven wickets, including five in the first innings.
