Shoaib Malik included in Pakistan team
The former captain will also join Pakistan cricket team’s training camp today which is currently underway at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Earlier, Shoaib Malik was cleared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) integrity committee on Friday and was eligible for selection for the national team.
Malik has not played for the national side since the controversy-filled tour of England last summer, and has been involved in a long-drawn out battle with the PCB to be cleared.
The main issue blocking Malik s clearance was certain deposits in his overseas bank account, but the PCB has said in their release announcing Malik s clearance that he was able to provide evidence that the deposits did not emanate from any questionable source or activity.
ANP demands new province in Balochistan
Addressing the party units of tribal areas in Peshawar, ANP’s provincial president Afrasiab Khattak said that tribal areas should be declared a province to include tribal people in the national stream.
He said that South Pakhtunkhwa Province should be formed for the people of Balochistan and party should initiate consultation over the issue.
He said that imposition of Political Parties Act and representation of the tribal people in the provincial assembly was dire need of time.
Khattak added that Pakhtuns are one nation and they should not be separated due to geographic barriers.
Shoaib Malik Back Shahid Afridi As Captain
Former Pakistan captain and all-rounder Shoaib Malik said that PCB should not change the captain for the national team for the world cup. He said that Shahid Afridi is doing well for Pakistan and he will able to lead the team in the world cup 2011. Malik is recently named as captain of Punjab team and he also supports Shahid Afridi as a captain for Pakistan team.
Now a day there is race for captaincy between Shahid Afridi and Misbah Ul Haq as PCB has named the national team for the world cup but so far the name of the captain is still not announced.
PCB decided to name the captain for the world cup 2011 after the New Zealand’s ODI series. Misbah has leaded the team well in the world cup and now he is also performing well in ODI’s. Shahid Afridi who was not in form has now came back in form as he scored quick 65 runs in 25 balls in last match.
Both Afridi and Misbah is doing well for Pakistan and now PCB has to decide about the captain. Shoaib Malik is of view that by changing the captain there will be disturbance in the team. he favors Afridi as captain.
No Operation in Waziristan on Dictation: PM Gilani
ISLAMABAD, trendpk: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said foreign hand involved in Balochistan.
Addressing the National Assembly session on Thursday, Gilani said that no compromise would be made on the national sovereignty and integrity.
The prime minister said that the security operation in North Waziristan will not be initiated on any dictation. He said the nation was taken into confidence before launching security operations in South Waziristan and Malakand region.
Gilani said that ISI is a key institution of the state and it cannot be forced to send officials to appear before American court.

Hockey not included in National Games

ISLAMABAD: Hockey is Pakistan’s national game but this time it has not been included in the National Games therefore the Sports Minister Eijaz Jakhrani has taken the notice and has asked the Pakistan Olympic Association to explain immediately.
The spokespersons of the Sports Minister said that Eijaz Jakhrani was not happy over the issue.
On the other hand, Asif Bajwa, the Secretary of Pakistan Hockey Federation, told Trend Pk that such attitude with the national game was pathetic.

Younis Khan gets green signal for return
Younis Khan gets green signal for return in the national squad after the announcement of team for ODIs, T20s and also for Tests against South Africa.
Talking to media-men at Qazzafi stadium Lahore, Younis said that a meeting, required for his return, will soon be held. He said he has received a letter from PCB in which he is asked to meet. He said he thought that the letter would contain strict conditions for the return, but the have just asked to meet.
PCB lifts ban on Rana Naveed
The Pakistan Cricket Board on Saturday has lifted a one-year ban from medium fast bowler Rana Naveedul Hassan. His fine has also been curtailed to Rs 10 lac. Now, Rana Naveed can play cricket again.
It is worth mentioning that Naveed had been banned from playing cricket for a year and PCB put Rs 20 lac fine on him.
Talking to media, Rana Naveed said that he was very happy over the lifting of the ban. He hoped that he will make comeback in the national team soon.
