Firoz Nadiadwala is certainly one of the most lavish producers in tinsel town. After producing several hit films, Firoz now plans to open a state of the art film studio on the outskirts of Pune.
To be called Nadiadwala Entertainment Technology (NET), the studio will be built on a 460 acre property and would also feature other amenities like a 3 star hotel, a 5 star hotel and a convention centre. This dream project of Firoz Nadiadwala is expected to cost over Rs.1000 crores.
Must say the film industry is surely going to get a boost if producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s dream project materialises.
Three hurt in Peshawar explosion
At least three people got injured in a bomb blast occurred in the outskirts of Peshawar on Thursday morning, trendpk.com reported.
As per details, the explosion took place in a house located in government officials colony in Hassan Garhi ground, which resulted in injury to three persons including PC Hotels security guard Amir, driver of a private school and a passer-by. However, no causality was reported.
The explosion sound was so powerful that it was audible far and wide places. Police and other law enforcement agencies threw cordon around the area. Rescue officials rushed the scene and shifted the wounded to Lady Reading Hospital.
Drug-related fighting kills 8 in Mexico
As many as eight people have been gunned down in separate drug-related shootouts in the Mexican city of Juarez as the country scrambles to snuff out drug trafficking.
Five men were killed at a tire repair shop in Juarez on Sunday and three others were slain in a house on the outskirts of the border city in a separate incident. Meanwhile, the Mexican army found the bodies of five men in a graveyard south of Palomas, Chihuahua. The upsurge of drug-related violence comes despite efforts by Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who launched a war on drug cartels in the country in 2006.
Drug-related violence has so far claimed some 31,000 lives in spite of Calderon’s deployment of about 50,000 troops across the country.

PESHAWAR: At least three policemen have sustained injuries in a bomb blast in the outskirts of Peshawar on Sunday.
According to police, early morning today, a police party was on a routine round in Urmad area in the out skirts of Peshawar. When it reached at Baghban area, suddenly a road edge planted bomb blasted with a bang.
Consequently, the vehicle of the police party was damaged and the driver and two on board constables of the special force sustained injuries.
The rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to Lady Reading Hospital of Peshawar where all injured, reportedly, were recovered and out of danger. Trend Pk

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has said that most of the explosives used in bomb attacks on its territory were smuggled from Afghanistan but insisted it was restricting the cross-border movement of insurgents fighting US troops.
“All these IEDs (improvised-explosive devices) are actually being transported from Afghanistan to Pakistan,” Interior Minister Rehman Malik told a national conference on countering the threat from roadside bombs.
“With naked eyes, you can see on the border… that the terrorists are coming towards Pakistan, along with arms and ammunition.”

PESHAWAR: A remote-controlled bomb blast left three people injured near Adezai Intersection in the outskirts of Peshawar on Monday.
The injured included a police constable, a passerby and prayer leader. They were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
According to reports, an armored police vehicle was the target of the blast.
Meanwhile, police and volunteers of a local peace lashkar surrounded the area and started investigations.
A local pro-government militia foiled a terrorist attack last night. However, a rocket attack killed two women.

Indonesia flights back on track after volcano cancellations

JAKARTA: U.S. President Barack Obama’s twice-postponed visit to Indonesia looked back on track on Monday after flights to the capital returned to normal following a weekend of disruptions caused by a deadly volcano.
Mount Merapi, on the outskirts of Yogyakarta city in central Java, began spewing lava, superheated gas and deadly clouds of ash two weeks ago and has so far killed over 130 people and forced the evacuation of nearly 300,000.
Dozens of flights to and from Jakarta, around 600 km (375 miles) from the volcano, were cancelled over the weekend after the volcano belched fresh clouds of volcanic ash 6,000 metres (19,000 ft) into the atmosphere.

One dead, 5 injured in ambush at PIMS Hospital

ISLAMABAD: Unknown gunmen fired shots outside the Emergency Ward of PIMS Hospital on Friday, killing one person and injuring five others.
The attack was motivated by an earlier clash, which took place between two rival groups in Tarlai Village in the outskirts of Islamabad.
According to hospital sources, unidentified assailants opened fire at a group of people who were shifting two injured men to the Emergency Ward.
Out of the five who suffered bullet injuries, two are said to be in critical condition.
Following the attack, the gunmen managed to escape.
