Oklahoma Road Conditions updates :- Travel across much of Oklahoma is discouraged as the winter storm continues to pound the state.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation just closed U.S. 62, 5 miles west of Altus for an unknown amount of time.
All interstates in the Oklahoma City Metro area have been shut down due to weather. There are numerous accidents and stranded vehicles blocking all roadways.
Troopers encourage you not to drive in western and southwestern parts of the state. Blizzard conditions in far western and southern counties have reduced visibility. Highways remain slick in the western two thirds of the state, and conditions continue to deteriorate.
Several collisions have been reported on I-35 south of the Oklahoma City area. Travel is also discouraged on I-40 west of Clinton due to low visibility.
The Tulsa area began to experience sleet around 11:00 a.m.

Christmas Parade or Disney Christmas Parade 2009
Christmas Parade or Disney Christmas Parade 2009 updates :- 26th annual “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” (ABC, 10 a.m.) this morning. Also performing are Stevie Wonder, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Yanni. The newest Disney Princess, Anika Noni Rose, of Bloonfield, who voices Tiana in the current big screen offering, “The Princess and the Frog,” joins the ranks of Mickey Mouse and usual gang of Disney characters (which now includes Phineas and Ferb. Kelly Ripa hosts in Orlando; Ryan Seacrest takes the helm on the West Coast and Nick Cannon also appears.
At the same time at Disney Christmas Parade 2009, the aforementioned legend Stevie Wonder will perform his very own holiday song, “What Christmas Means to Me.” Yanni will bring his Yanni Voices to perform a reverent arrangement of “O Holy Night” featuring Nathan Pacheco.
American Idol winner Kris Allen will perform “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” There appears to be no sign of runner-up and favorite Adam Lambert at Disney Christmas Parade 2009. Small wonder, based on his recent controversial appearances, which would not be Disney-friendly.
For Disney Channel fans, Disney Christmas Parade 2009 will have one of the channel’s biggest stars, or rather, group of stars. Jonas Brothers will perform. So will Selena Gomez from the Disney show “The Wizards of Waverly Place.”
Also at Disney Christmas Parade 2009 will be Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose. She is also the voice of Princess Tiana from the new Walt Disney Pictures animated feature film, The Princess and the Frog.
Also appearing will be “Sonny with a Chance” star Demi Lovato. In a somewhat advertising-based appearance, Travel Channel host Samantha Brown will appear from Disney Cruise Line, aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship, during the Disney Christmas Parade 2009.
Naturally, there will also be plenty of non-humans at the Disney Christmas Parade 2009. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck and Goofy, among plenty of other Disney characters, will appear.

Walmart hours yesterday, before the Christmas Eve, had early closing for the night. They seems to resume the store operation on the next day.

Pope Benedict XVI is recovering from pre-Mass pandemonium this evening after a mentally-disturbed Roman woman jumped a barrier and toppled The Pontiff as he walked down the main aisle during Christmas Eve Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica on Thursday.

Standing Rib Roast
Standing Rib Roast : – A full prime rib/standing rib roast is seven (7) ribs, close to 15 pounds, and enough to feed a crowd of 14 or more people (depending on how big of eaters they are). The term “standing” means the bones are included in the roast, thus the roast can stand by itself. A rib roast comprises of seven ribs starting from the shoulder (chuck) down the back to the loin.
For a generous serving of roast, figure on two people per rib. That means if you plan to serve:
*six (6) people – three (3) rib roast
*eight (8) people – four (4) rib roast
*ten (10) people – five (5) rib roast
*twelve (12) people – six (6) rib roast
*fourteen (14) people – seven (7) rib roast
Don’t even bother with less than a three-rib roast, any less than that is not a roast but rather a thick steak and would be better treated as such.

How To Purchase A Prime Rib Roast:
A whole rib roast (prime rib) consists of ribs 6 through 12. Most GOOD butchers recommend that you request a rib roast from the small end toward the back of the rib section, which is leaner and gives you more meat for your dollar. This cut is referred to as the first cut, the loin end, or sometimes the small end, because the meat and ribs get larger as they move up toward the shoulder.
I do NOT recommend purchasing a boneless rib roast, as roasting with the bones adds flavor. But, if you do purchase a boneless prime rib roast, cook using the same guidelines as a roast with ribs. Usually the weight is figured without the bones. If in doubt, weight your roast before cooking it.
Be sure and check the date the prime rib was packaged. This is an indicator as to how long it has been sitting around in the store. Look at the color of the prime rib; it should have a bright red color and no dry or brown edges. Check for any damage to the packaging and wrapping.

Terrorist Attack Detroit, Flight 253
DETROIT : Terrorist Attack Detroit in US Plane, A Nigerian man with reported links to al Qaeda tried to blow up a US airliner with a new type of explosive device Friday before being tackled by passengers in what officials said was an attempted Christmas Day terror attack.
Some travellers aboard Northwest Airlines Flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit panicked but others sprang into action, overwhelming the man as he lit the device, which reportedly made a popping sound and burst into flames.
The suspect’s clothes caught fire and he suffered serious burn wounds. The incident could have been “catastrophic,” US Representative Peter King told US media.
White House officials and US lawmakers said the incident was a terror attack and President Barack Obama, on vacation with his family in Hawaii, ordered increased security measures after being briefed on the attempt.
“We believe this was an attempted act of terrorism,” a senior White House official told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Obama held a secure conference call with his Homeland Security and Counter-terrorism Advisor John Brennan, and National Security Council chief of staff Denis McDonough.
Obama “instructed that all appropriate measures be taken to increase security for air travel,” the White House said.
“The president is actively monitoring the situation and receiving regular updates,” the statement read.
The incident unfolded around noon local time (1700 GMT) when the passenger lit what was initially described as a firework.
Initial reports said the man had been “subdued” after causing a disturbance but no harm.
King, the senior Republican on the House of Representatives Homeland Security committee, said the passenger was a 23-year-old Nigerian who boarded the plan in Nigeria.
“My understanding also is that while he is not on a watch list, he definitely has terror connections,” King told Fox news. “There is a terrorist nexus leading towards al Qaeda involving this assailant.”
King said the man had tried to detonate “a fairly sophisticated device.”
“When it did go off he himself was seriously injured, my understanding is he has third degree burns. This could have been catastrophic,” King said.
King said that it could have been “a somewhat new type of device.
“I know it was fairly sophisticated, and from what I’ve heard about the way it was going to be detonated, it seems to be different from what we’ve seen before,” he added.
US media, citing a federal security bulletin, said the man told investigators he had acquired the explosive device in Yemen, along with instructions as to when it should be used.
Sandra Berchtold, an FBI spokeswoman in Detroit, told AFP the incident was under investigation, and the Transportation Safety Administration said it had isolated the plane and was conducting additional screening.
“All passengers de-planed and out of an abundance of caution the plane was moved to a remote area where the plane and all the baggage are currently being re-screened,” the agency said in a statement.
The incident drew comparisons with the case of the “shoe bomber” Richard Reid, who attempted to bomb a trans-Atlantic flight in December 2001 by igniting explosives smuggled aboard in his shoes.
As with the Reid case, initial reports suggested passengers were responsible for preventing a more serious situation.
The Reid incident sparked an drastic increase in security on airplane flights.
Syed Jafry, a passenger aboard the flight, told CNN that one traveler in particular tackled the man.
“He took care of that suspect. He handled him pretty good,” Jaffry said.
“There was a little bit, obviously, of a struggle. And I think he took it under control.”
In the Netherlands, anti-terrorism officials said the suspect was not a Dutch national or resident.
The man arrived at Amsterdam-Schiphol airport on a connecting flight, said Judith Sluiter, the spokeswoman for the Netherlands’ anti-terrorism coordinator.
Sluiter however was unable to specify from which country the man had arrived to the airport but King told Fox News the man “boarded the plane in Nigeria and then connected on in Amsterdam to Detroit.”
