KESC not to cut power supply during semifinal

KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has announced that it will not cut power supply during the World Cup semifinal between Pakistan and India.
The decision was made seeing immense interest of the people towards the match.

Due to the negligence of the local administration, the people of Badin face problems in buying sugar easily and on normal rates.

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has reduced power tariffs by 36 paisas per unit for just a month; the people of Karachi will not benefit from the relief given by the NEPRA.
According to sources, the reduction in power tariffs has been made for fuel adjustments for the month of September. The consumers benefit from Rs. 3 on 100 units.

Quake jolts Islamabad, Peshawar and Kashmir
Severe jolts of earthquake were felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Haripur, Muzzafarabad and Balakot.
According to meteorological department, the earthquake jolts were felt at around 2:46 am. The center of earthquake was 20 Km from Islamabad towards North-West between Khanpur and Haripur Hazara. The intensity of earthquake was measured to be 5.3 on the Richter scale. Most of the people came out of their houses due to fear; however there were no reports of any kind of casualties or building damages. Right after the earthquake, rainfall began in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
