Lahore: Three suspects arrested for firing on Police
After police stopped a suspicious looking car at a security check post near Kalma chowk, the three people in the car opened fire on the police officials and then ran into an under construction plaza near the check post.
Police cordoned off the area as the both sides exchanged fire for 15 minutes. Meanwhile police surrounded that three people and eventually arrested them.
After initial investigation, it was found out that the three people were involved in various robberies.
Man kills niece, nephew in Faisalabad
Usman beat to death his 5-year-old nephew Sharif and 3-year-old niece Rabia, after he had a heated quarrel with his brother-in-law Waris, on Tuesday. According to the police, he tried to dispose the bodies by burning them but failed.
The police arrested the Usman from Abbaspur, in the precincts of Thikriwala Police station in Faisalabad.
Karachi: Relatives of robbery accused thrash police station
Relatives and friends of a robbery accused who died in the prison protested against his death in front of Rasala police station Karachi. The protesters pelted stones and broke the gate of the police station.
Rasala Police had arrested 25-year-old Imran in robbery case who died in the police station. His relatives brought his dead body to the police station and staged protest. They pelted stones and broke the gate of the police station. The protesters were of the view that police arrested Imran in fake robbery case and brutally tortured him due to which he died in the prison. TP Saddar Irshad Ali told trendpk.com. that action would be taken against police if found guilty. He said that DJ South has been ordered to launch inquiry.
Kohat Suicide Attack toll Rises to 17
KOHAT, News Trends: The death toll in Wednesday’s suicide attack at a transport terminal in Tirah Bazaar area of Kohat has reached to 17. Thirey-two persons were injured in attack.
That the police has found head and legs of the suicide bomber who was aged between 15 to 17 years.
The DPO also confirmed 17 deaths in the attack.
The injured being treated at nearby hospitals.
Banned terrorist outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban has claimed responsibility of the attack.
Dunya News torture case: FIR yet to be lodged
Even after 24 hours of torturing of Dunya News team by the LDA guards, police have failed to lodge an FIR while they also released the main character of the whole story, Major (R) Suhaib during the late hours of night.
Yesterdayc an LDA school teacher came to the LDA plaza with her reinstatement order issued by the honorable Lahore High Court but as soon as she reached LDA office she was tortured miserably by the guards. Upon covering the incident the guards also tortured Dunya News team, including producer, cameraman and driver. Not only this but they also snatched the camera from the cameraman and broke it completely. On this occasion the journalists handed over the incharge of the guards to the police but the police made lame excuses to lodge an FIR and till late at night they did not register the first investigation report of the incident. Even after the medical report of senior producer of Dunya News Taha Siddiqui which declares one of his ribs broken, the police are not prepared to register an FIR.
According to the police sources, the brother of the accused is a lawyer and the lawyers community threatened the police of coming with bailiff to get the accused released from the police custody, therefore the police could not lodge an FIR against Major Suhaib.
On the other hand LDA has taken its request for an FIR against Dunya News unconditionally in order to pressurize the organization.

Khanewal torture case: Held culprits presented in court
In the wake of the Lahore High Courts suo moto notice, the police have managed to arrest the accused in the Khanewal torture case and presented them before the court, Dunya News reported on Friday.
On Wednesday, a landlord inflicted severe torture and humiliated two labourers Kaswar and Altaf Hussain on demand of wages.
The LHC took notice and ordered the police to nab the culprits immediately after Dunya News aired the news. As per the DPO, all the accused pointed by the victims have been held. Meanwhile, Chief Justice LHC disposed off the case of killing of the sole breadwinner of 4 blind brothers.The court granted the police physical remand of all the five accused in the said case.
Abducted restaurateur killed in Gujranwala
A restaurateur, who was abducted a fortnight ago, has been killed in cold-blood in Gujranwala, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
Some unidentified criminals kidnapped Mujahid aka Nanah some 18 days ago and demanded Rs0.2million ransom for his release. Police traced the abductors thorough mobile calls data and arrested three men namely Maher, Nadeem and Ijaz.
The trio told the police during preliminary investigations that they strangled Mujahid soon after abducting him and threw his dead body near a canal. Police launched search for the body.
Police claim identifying a suicide bomber

KARACHI: Police claimed on Friday that the identity of one of the suicide bomber’s who attacked Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine yesterday day has been found.
TPO Clifton said that one suicide bomber, Naseebullah, was a teenager hailing from Deer. Naseebullah was residing in the city’s area Metroville before he attacked the shrine, the police official added.
He also disclosed that a new security plan is being made for Ghazi’s shrine. SAMAA
