ISLAMABAD: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has been made as the head of the Zardari tribe, TrendPK reported on Friday.
According to the sources at the President House, the formal ceremony of making Bilawal the head of the tribe will be held later. TrendPK
PIA increases fares for Umra up to Rs. 2,000
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to increase the fares for Hajj and Umra. After the increase, Rs. 69,080 would be charged as Umra fare.
Meanwhile, after 6 percent increase, the Hajj package fare has been increased from 100,000 to 106,000 and short term Hajj fare has been increased from 120,000 to 1,27000.
According to the sources, PIA has devised a plan to increase Umra fares after every two weeks due to the increasing number of passengers.

Punjab Subordinate Judiciary Calls off Strike
LAHORE : The judges of subordinate judiciary in Punjab called off their strike after their meeting with Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC), Justice Khawja Muhammed Sharif.
The judges announced to resume their judicial activities from today.
According to the sources, the LHC CJ directed the judges to resolve all issued amicably and all the judges were asked to avoid giving the entire episode the political coloring.
Also, the sources said the induction of new Session Judge Lahore Sohail Nasir in the office would bring forth good results.
On this, the judges of subordinate judiciary withdrew their resignations and called off their strike.
No gas for Punjab, CNG stations to be closed for 3 days

LAHORE: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Monday has announced that gas supply to all industrial units has been suspended for five days due to the annual 10-day closure of closure of Qadirpur gas field, SAMAA learnt Monday.
All the CNG stations will also remain close for three days.
According to the sources of SNGPL, the closure of Qadirpur gas field till October 19 will cause decrease in gas availability from 1,900 million cubic feet to 1,500 million cubic feet. To overcome this shortfall, SNGPL decided to suspend gas for five days.
Weekly holidays will be started again in CNG stations and industrial units after the construction of Qadirpur gas field. SAMAA

India successfully test-fires Agni-II
India on Monday successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable Agni-II missile intermediate range ballistic missile, with a range of 2000 kms, from the Wheelers Island off Orissa coast.
A special strategic command force raised by Army conducted the trial with necessary logistic support provided by various laboratories of the ITR and Defence Research and Development Organisation scientists, the sources said. The indigenously-built Agni-II missile is a two-stage solid propelled ballistic missile. Its length is 21 metres, width one metre and launch weight is 17 tonnes. It can carry a payload of one tonne over a distance of 2,000 km. The missile is part of the Agni series which includes Agni-I of 700 km range and Agni-III of 3,500 km range. Agni-I has been inducted into the forces and Agni-III is in the process of induction.
