Only home-productions henceforth for Salman?
It’s a known fact that almost all actors have turned producers or have their family members producing films for them. The industry is abuzz with the speculation that Salman Khan has decided to concentrate on home-productions henceforth, a decision that took shape after some of his producers defaulted on his remuneration in the past. Also, the super success of brother Arbaaz Khan’s debut production DABANGG seems to have made the family think about concentrating on home-productions for the time being.
However, the news could be part speculation, part truth, since Salman is currently shooting for Bhushan Kumar’s READY directed by Anees Bazmee and has committed to do a film KICK for Sajid Nadiadwala, which will be directed by Shirish Kunder. Of course, bro-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s film BODYGUARD will roll immediately after READY is complete and is slated for release in Eid 2011. Also in the pipeline are DABANGG 2 and PARTNER 2, which, again, will see the involvement of his family members.

Popstar Mariah Carey is not expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon.
A spokesperson for the pop star has dismissed the speculation saying there’s “no truth” to the
pregnancy reports, said leading Magazine.
The singer sparked pregnancy speculation at the Independent Spirit Awards in Los Angeles, when she told, “I have a lot of new acting projects coming up. But there’s also something else very special on the way. I can’t say any more.”

British Actress Jean Simmons Dead at 80

LOS ANGELES: British actress Jean Simmons, an Emmy Award winner whose career included roles in “Hamlet” and “Spartacus,” died in California Friday.
The Times said Simmons, who earned two Oscar nominations during a long career that spanned seven decades, died at her home in Santa Monica after losing a battle to lung cancer.
The movie star’s manager could not immediately be reached for comment.
Although she worked mostly in television in her later years, appearing in the hit 1983 mini-series “The Thorn Birds,” for which she obtained an Emmy Award, Simmons gained fame in the 1950s and 1960s after starring in several hit films.
Her career took off after she appeared as the doomed Ophelia opposite Laurence Olivier in the legendary actor’s 1948 production of “Hamlet.” Simmons’s performance earned her the first of two Academy Award nominations.
Among her notable early roles were playing the young Estella in David Lean’s classic 1946 adaptation of “Great Expectations.”
Later films included “Guys and Dolls,” “Spartacus” and 1969’s “The Happy Ending,” which earned her a second Oscar nod for her portrayal of an alcoholic wife.
Simmons married twice — to actor Stewart Granger from 1950 to 1960 and to director Richard Brooks from 1960 to 1977. Both marriages ended in divorce.
