SBP collects Rs124 bn through OMO

KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) collected Rs124 billion against the target of Rs8 billion by executing Open Market Operation, Geo News reported on Wednesday.

The SBP issued treasury bills of 3, 6 and 12-month denominations.

KANDAHAR: Two explosions, followed by gunfire, shook an area of Afghanistan”s southern city of Kandahar on Monday, a UK-based news agency witness said.

It was unclear what caused the blasts and the gunfire.

The Taliban have carried out strikes in recent months in various parts of the country, including Kandahar, the target of a mass offensive planned by NATO-led forces in coming months.
