Gilani rules out talks with militants working on foreign agenda
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday reiterated his administration’s resolve to pursue the policy of 3Ds (dialogue, development, deterrence).
He pledged to hold talks with tribal who are ready to surrender their arms to the tribal agents of their respective areas.
“We are ready to hold talks with those who will voluntarily decommission to the tribal agents. We are ready to bring them into mainstream,” he said while speaking in the National Assembly.
However, the Prime Minister ruled out any dialogue with those working on foreign agenda. TrendPK

MULTAN: Unknown people on Wednesday pelted stones at participants of the main Youm-e-Ali procession in Multan.
The incident took place at Chowk Bazaar area when Allama Zaheer Abbas was addressing the mourners.

Death toll in Lahore bombings mounts to 28

LAHORE: At least 28 people were killed and scores of others wounded after three suicide bombs ripped through a Youm-e-Ali procession in Lahore on Wednesday.
Children and women are also among the dead.
The bombs exploded at three separate sites as thousands of mourners marched the streets of inner Lahore in their traditional mourning procession to mark Youm-e-Ali.
The dead and injured were shifted to Mayo and Ganga Ram hospitals.
Speaking to SAMAA, DCO Sajjad Bhutta admitted a security lapse.
In a statement, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the blast, saying the attackers would not escape justice.
Earlier, unknown gunmen ambushed a Youm-e-Ali procession in Karachi, injuring six people.
The bombings came after Pakistan army jets and helicopters targeted militant hideouts near the Afghan border,
Troops kill 15 militants in Kurram Agency

KURRAM AGENCY: Security forces backed by helicopter gunships killed 15 militants in the tribal Kurram Agency on Wednesday.
According to sources, helicopter gunships pounded militant hideouts in the Chanak area of central Kurram region, killing 15 militants and injuring t10 others.
Three militant hideouts were also destroyed in the bombings. SAMAA
President Asif Ali Zardari said Govt focusing on uplift of FATA
Lahore, Pakistan news:- President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said the government was allocating huge resources and focusing on development of the tribal areas with an aim to bringing these at par with the rest of the country.
Talking to a delegation comprising of Senators and MNAs from FATA who called on the President in Islamabad at the Presidency, the President said the government was committed to the political and economic emancipation of the people of the tribal areas.
The members of the delegation thanked the President for his keen interest in the uplift of FATA.

Clashes in SWaziristan, Five Militants killed
WANA, Pakistan: Clashes in SWaziristan, Five Militants killed, Five militants were killed and several wounded in the tribal region of South Waziristan on Sunday during the security operation under way.

Security forces imposed indefinite curfew from 4:30 am this morning in Tehsil Miranshah, Mir Ali and Dosli tehsil in the tribal region of North Waziristan.
Moreover, security forces continued progress in South Waziristan, as the troops have reached near the fortress of the terrorists Sararogha.
The forces had killed 33 militants in fighting yesterday.

Waziristan, Pakistan :- Some three people were killed and dozens injured as a suspected US drone aircraft fired missiles in Muchi Khel area of the North Waziristan Agency, the tribal area bordering Afghanistan.
