Polling Ends in Gilgit-Baltistan
GILGIT, Pakistan : Polling in the Legislative Assembly elections of Gilgit-Baltistan has ended Thursday.
Total number of registered voters for the GB Legislative Assembly is 7,17,286. Over 250 candidates are taking part in the election on 23 seats out of 24. Polling has been postponed in GB-19 due to the death of MQM candidate.
Polling which started at 8 in the morning has ended.
Due to stringent security measures, so far there has been no report of any violence or untoward incident from any part of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Sugar will available for two hours at utility stores
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan news: Sugar will be available for only two hours at the utility stores, said the Federal Minister for Agriculture and Production Mian Manzoor Wattoo while talking to the media after the committee meeting called for the sugar crisis Thursday.
Wattoo said that the utility stores will continue to provide sugar at subsidized rates to the public.
He said that sugar at Rs 38 per kg will be available daily from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm daily.
The Federal Committee has increased the monthly sugar quota for the utility stores to 69000 tons.

23 terrorists killed in operation Rah-e-Nijaat
WAZIRISTAN, Pakistan news : The security forces killed 23 terrorists in the past 24 hours in Operation Rah-e Nijat, said the ISPR Thursday.
In the process, five army officials were killed and eight others were injured.
In Jhandola and Gharasar area of Sararogha, five terrorists were killed in a skirmish. One security official was also killed.
A large amount of weapons and explosives have been found from Shakai and Kanigaram areas of Ladha, Satta, Mangorasar, Narakai, Gholait Keli, Torom and Shabi Khel.
In Langar Khel, 14 terrorists were killed and five security officials were martyred. Seven others were injured.
The forces are strengthening their position in South of Makeen. They have established a checkpost at Zahidullah Gharyoum and have started patrolling. Here, they have also started action against the terrorists in Darra Algaid.
They forces have control over the Roga village, where three terrorists were killed in a skirmish.

President Asif Ali Zardari said Govt focusing on uplift of FATA
Lahore, Pakistan news:- President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said the government was allocating huge resources and focusing on development of the tribal areas with an aim to bringing these at par with the rest of the country.
Talking to a delegation comprising of Senators and MNAs from FATA who called on the President in Islamabad at the Presidency, the President said the government was committed to the political and economic emancipation of the people of the tribal areas.
The members of the delegation thanked the President for his keen interest in the uplift of FATA.
