From England, his ex-wife Jemima and two sons were among those who telephoned and inquired after his health. He was operated upon at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital (SKMH) and then shifted to a private room in the hospital.
“Imran Khan was to meet a number of party delegations and address some meetings on Monday, but he felt severe pain in his intestine while preparing to leave for a function at the Aiwan-e-Karkunaan,” said PTI Central Information Secretary Omar Sarfraz Cheema.
He said the PTI chairman felt acute pain in his abdomen and was rushed to SKMH, where the doctors found out it was in fact an obstruction in his abdomen, which caused the pain. Imran started his mass contact campaign on Sunday from Lahore. He is expected to resume the campaign after a gap of at least three or four days, Cheema said in reply to a question.
The PTI information secretary appealed to the nation to pray for Imran’s early recovery and thanked those on behalf of Imran Khan, who showed concern for his health. Various political and religious leaders phoned to inquire after Imran’s health.
