Qadri got himself in Taseer’s security: witness
RAWALPINDI: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Saturday had statements of three more witnesses recorded and later adjourned the hearing till April 2.
Judge of the special court, Raja Akhlaq heard the case of accused Mumtaz Qadri in Adiala Jail.
During the trial, statements of three policemen were recorded.
Umer Farooq, the policeman who served as Duty Head Mohrar in his statement recorded by the court said Mumtaz Qadri was made part of Governor Punjab’s security detail on his (Qadri’s) insistence.
Eight killed in Nowshera suicide blast
NOWSHERA: Eight people including three policemen were killed and 22 others wounded in a suicide blast outside house of Mian Iftikhar Hussain here on Monday.
Two relatives of Mian Ifitkhar also included among the wounded. Police sources said a suicide bomber tried to force into the house; on the occasion following the burial of Mian Rashid Sunday, heavy contingents of police were deployed to fend off any potential threat to law and order.
On being intercepted by a police personnel, the bomber blew him up killing eight on the spot and injuring 22 others. The injured were transported to Pabbi and Peshawar hospitals.
Meanwhile, CCPO Peshawar Liaquat Ali said search operation has begun in Pabbi after receiving reports of presence of two more suicide bombers near the house of Mian Iftikhar. He appealed the local residents to remain stay at their homes so that policemen conduct search operation smoothly.

LAHORE: A CCTV footage of yesterdays” attack on Jinnah Hospital has been released to media by the hospital authorities.
According to the footage attackers used backdoor to enter the hospital at 11:31pm.
Five persons including three policemen were gunned down when at least four terrorists clad in police uniforms stormed into the ”well-guarded” emergency ward late night, in a futile bid to rescue or kill an under-treatment terrorist injured in the attack on an Ahmedi worship place in Model Town on May 28.
Attackers open indiscriminate fire as they entered into ward and patients were seen running towards Surgical Unit to save their lives, footage of camera installed at Surgical Unit 4 showed.
A police officer tried to hide behind a door and later ran out of the area. Injured can also be seen crying for help
