13.5% increase in gas tariff approved
ISLAMABAD: The government has approved 13.5% increase in gas tariff here on Sunday.
According to sources, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani approved the increase which will be imposed on all consumers except fertilizer feed stock.
The notification is likely to be issued either tonight or on August 8 (tomorrow).
The petroleum ministry had advised 100% increase for fertilizer sector and 68% for CNG but the advice was rejected.
CNG association’s chairman, Ghayas Paracha said that the new rates of CNG are likely to touch Rs 66 per kilogram after new gas prices. TrendPK

What Channel is The Vikings Game on Tonight, It’s sad that the Viking’s Metrodome roof collapsed, but the real crime is that the Vikings Giants game is not on TV tonight for most people. The reason as reported by the Baltimore Sun is that Fox and ESPN could not reach an agreement about who would air it. ESPN has the exclusive rights to Monday Night Football, and since the Sunday game is now on Monday, they needed to agree to let Fox broadcast it as they were originally scheduled to do on Sunday. Evidently that did not happen as the game is nowhere to be found on TV tonight. If you are watch the Ravens-Texans game on ESPN, they are giving frequent updates as to the status of the game, but there’s nowhere to watch.
You can listen on ESPN radio, and I’m told that the NFL Network will air the game at midnight tonight, although I don’t get that channel because I’m so lucky as to have Time Warner Cable. However, it will be on NFL.com starting at midnight or as soon as the Ravens-Texans game is over, and be available for 24 hours. That is decent of them!

Although she wasn’t a scheduled performer at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga still made a point to sing on stage Sunday. While accepting the honor of a great night, and video of the year, and revealed to the public Gaga name her new album.
“I promised that if I won this tonight, I’d announce the name of my new recording,” Gaga said, eyes brimming with tears. After the announcement of its name, “I was born this way,” she belted, “God does not make mistakes, and I am the child the right track.
I was born this way” to an audience that went silent quickly after the first note she sang. Idiot, who was nominated for Moonmen 13 record, and took home eight trophies Sunday night, her “bad romantic” and “video phone music”.

And last week, it made no sense in linear time that Michele Rodriguez’s character, Ana Lucia, could have appeared in a flash sideways after she’d died on the island. But neither did it make sense in the same episode that Rousseau and her daughter, Alix, could have existed in Ben’s story.

Famous Tonight Show bandleader Kevin Eubanks is leaving Jay Leno and the late night institution he has called home for nearly two decades.
While Eubanks has become a fixture of the Tonight Show and a lovable and unfailing comedic foil to Jay Leno, NBC has quickly announced a replacement for the longtime bandleader.
And some are saying the person picked for the job is a Team Coco turncoat.
Although initial reports of former Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien bandleader Max Weinberg replacing Kevin Eubanks proved false, American Idol music director Rickey Minor has officially been given the job.
The only problem? Friends sloe to Minor say the American Idol mainstay is actually a big Conan O’Brien. And while no one has gotten Minor to comment on the record yet, some believe that newly crowned Tonight Show bandleader was firmly on Team Coco. That is until NBC came calling with a sweet job offer.
