‘American Idol’ contestants want Jennifer Lopez back

TrendPK.com: Although Jennifer Lopez has not signed on for another season of ‘American Idol,’ former contestants are hoping she comes back.

So far, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson are confirmed for the upcoming season, states MTV. “I love Jennifer Lopez; she’s been nothing but nice to all of us, and backstage, she is as nice as she comes across on TV,” Paul McDonald commented on the up-in-the-air judge.

“I feel like it would be kind of sad if she didn’t come back. I think that’s something we look forward to, just because it was something that we had,” Naima Adedapo said about her hopes.

And Naima isn’t the only one who will be sad as Pia Toscano revealed the same feeling: “I’m gonna miss her if she goes. I think she added so much to the show.”

Inspired by Big B, Prakash Jha also joins Twitter

By now, its common knowledge that Amitabh Bachchan is an avid blogger and also very active on popular social networking site ‘Twitter’. In fact during the shooting of his forthcoming film Aarakshan, so inspired was director Prakash Jha by Big B’s dedicated tweeting and blogging that he too decided to join the social networking community.

Prakash Jha, curious to see what the fuss is all about, has recently started tweeting from his handle @prakashjha1.

In one of his early tweets, Jha shares an exclusive still from his upcoming film Aarakshan. It is the picture of Amitabh Bachchan walking in the rain.

Along with the picture, he also re-tweeted Amitabh Bachchan’s tweet dated 8 March “T 300 -Somebody from the crowd, after seeing me getting wet in rain shot after shot, yelled to director -’Look after our son-in-law, please !’”

Whether he looked after Bhopal’s son-in-law is a matter of speculation, but for now, lets all welcome Prakash Jha onto the Twittersphere.

Johnny Depp loved being ‘silly’ for new movie

LOS ANGELES: Johnny Depp enjoyed making his upcoming movie Rango as it gave him the chance to “be silly”.

The actor provides the voice for the film’s title character, with stars including Bill Nighy, Isla Fisher and Abigail Breslin also displaying their vocal talents.

The comedy is CGI-animated, with the actor’s own facial expressions providing a reference for their characters, and Johnny loved delivering his performances on a soundstage alongside his co-stars.

“I think it just gives a bunch of grownups an opportunity to be silly,” he laughed.

The movie is set for release next year, and tells the tale of a chameleon that aspires to be a swashbuckling hero before finding himself stuck in a Western town plagued by bandits. Johnny felt he had a great deal in common with his reptile character, as he too sometimes wonders who he really is.

“Rango is a lizard attempting to adapt to his surroundings,” the star told ET. “He”s trying to figure out what he”s supposed to be, like most of us in life. It”s certainly like nothing I”ve ever done before, or any of us have ever done before.”

Akshay and Katrina get mobbed by fans

There are always two sides to a coin. While being famous comes with its own perks, there is a flip side too, which is of being followed by millions of ardent fans wherever you go. Though it’s all for the love of the celeb, sometimes the fans can get into frenzy and create trouble for the star. Katrina Kaif recently had a first hand experience of this, while she was on a promotional tour for her upcoming film Tees Maar Khan.

It was in Dubai when Katrina was scheduled for a promotional event at a local mall where her fans gathered in thronging numbers. On seeing her car arrive, her fans mobbed the vehicle for a glimpse of the actress. The situation got so out of hand that Katrina’s make up man had to double up as her security to escort the harrowed star back to the hotel.

While closer to home, on a nationwide promotional campaign, both Akshay and Katrina were left confined to the hotel in Ludhiana, all thanks to the fans who had gathered outside. Maybe the fans took the ‘Catch me if you can’ bit from the TMK’s title track too seriously.

Katrina visits Ajmer shrine

AJMER: Bollywood frontline actress, also winner of most beautiful ‘Eastern Eyes’ award in the year 2010, Katrina Kaif Saturday made her ways at Shrine of Sufi Saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (R.A) respectfully known as ‘Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaz’ (Generous for poor people) here in Ajmer Shareef.

Katrina, dressed in white traditional Shalwar Kameez dress, and accompanied by her family members, sought blessings and prayed for success of her upcoming movie ‘Tees Mar Khan’.

On the occasion, she had not forgot to observe complete face-veil as she appeared from her car outside shrine and was fully dressed in white traditional Shalwar Kameez.

She sprinkled flower petals at the shrine of Hazrat Khwaza, spread floral wreath and sought success for her upcoming film ‘Tees Mar Khan’.

PCB delays announcement of 30 probales for WC 2011

PCB has postponed the announcement of 30 probables for the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2011. The decision was expected today but due to some reasons PCB has delayed it.

According to sources, there are strong chances of dropping Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Danish Kaneria, Muhamamd Younas and Rana Naveedul Hassan.

Preparations for New Zealand tour have been completed but team for the tour has not yet finalized. Training camp was held in Qaddafi Stadium in which more focus was on fitness, bowling and fielding techniques. Javed Miandad has also taught batting techniques to junior players. And at the end to training camp today, it was expected that PCB would announce 30 players for World Cup 2011 but the announced has been delayed.

Waqar hopes better performance of players in WC

Pakistan Cricket Coach Waqar Younas said that players would have to work hard for New Zealand tour and there would be no affect on the performance of the team with the inclusion of any player.

Talking to media, Waqar hoped that the players will perform well in the upcoming wolrd cup 2011. He said that Afridi was right that Miandad can be more benificial for junior players. He said that Muhammad Yousaf was not included in the team due to injury problems.

Deepika’s first item number in ‘Dum maro dum’

MUMBAI: In the upcoming film of Abhishek bachchan ‘Dum maro dum’ ,actress Deepika Padukone will be performing an item song.

It will the first item number of deepika. Film dum maro dum has abhishek and bipasha in the lead role. Its not bips, but Deepika who was selected for the song. The song will be a promotional number.

Deepika wasn’t even in talks with Rohan regarding the ‘Dum Maro Dum’ item song. Rohan Sippy was considering other names then Deepika was suggested. She was selected unanimously.

The song will be a scintillating item number having have a contemporary and extremely urban feel in it. Pritam is remixing the song. The song will be shot next week.

Dum maro dum is a remake of Amitabh’s famous zanzeer film. Rohan sippy is the director of the film. Its a 2011 release.
