COLORADO SPRINGS: Reigning Olympic ice dance champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir and two-time world junior pairs champions Sui Wenjing and Han Cong of China took titles at the Four Continents Championships.
Canadians Virtue and Moir, who won Olympic gold on home ice in Vancouver in 2010, edged Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White — reigning world champions and 2010 Olympic runners-up — in the free dance to claim the overall title.
Virtue and Moir won the free dance 111.24-107.25 over the US duo, defending Four Continents champions and winners of Saturday’s short dance, to claim the overall title by 182.84-179.40 in the high-altitude mountain venue.
“It was a great performance,” Moir said. “We felt really strong. It was kind of a test for us up here with the altitude, and we were definitely feeling it.”
Americans Davis and White were pleased with their effort if not their result.
“I could not be prouder of the way we fought through both programs. We really worked through it,” White said. “We wanted to work on expression, and we did that. I felt like our elements were pretty good.”
Sui and Han captured their first international senior-level pairs title by winning Sunday’s free skate final after taking the short programme on Saturday.
The Chinese couple scored 135.08 points in the free skate to win the overall crown with 201.83 points to 185.42 for US champions Caydee Denney and John Coughlin. Americans Mary Beth Marley and Rockne Brubaker were third on 116.47.
“This is our first time to win a senior competition and we’re happy and excited. Maybe tonight we can’t sleep,” Han said.
“Late in the program there were a little nerves, but we adjusted. The throws were successful and we’re very pleased.”
Sui and Han plan to defend their world junior crowns as well as compete in next month’s World Championships at Nice, France.
“We’re excited for this chance,” Han said. AGENCIES
Tia Carrere Finds Tough Broads on Season 5 of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’

By Beck/Smith
TrendPK.com: Season five of “The Celebrity Apprentice” doesn’t debut until Feb. 19, so contestant Tia Carrere has to be circumspect about what she reveals regarding her journey on the show. But it can’t have been too hard on her — considering that now she’s now contemplating opening her own business back in her native Hawaii.
“The great thing was I found out I’m a really good team player. I’ve never been in a corporate environment before,” says the actress and Grammy-winning musician who rose to fame in the “Wayne’s World” movies. “I was pleased that I was able to anticipate people’s needs and be a self-starter. Most important, I promised myself going in that no matter what, I would maintain my integrity. There is no reason for being backbiting and manipulative. Other people are — but I guess that makes good TV, doesn’t it?
“I was surprised. Some of these broads are tough,” adds Carrere. She’s part of an eclectic group of 18 including Arsenio Hall, George Takei, Cheryl Tiegs, Penn Jillette, Clay Aiken, Victoria Gotti, Aubrey O’Day, Lisa Lampanelli, Adam Carolla, Victoria Gotti, Lou Ferrigno, Michael Andretti, Debbie Gibson, “Real Housewives of New Jersey’s” Teresa Giudice and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider.
Carrere reports she was a last-minute addition to the cast. “They had asked me for the past few years, and I’d always kind of shied away from it because I knew it would be difficult. I was the last one to jump on. I didn’t have time to think about it. It was, ‘Let’s just see if make money for my charity,’ which is After-School All-Stars. It’s a group Arnold Schwarzenegger introduced me to nearly 20 years ago when we did ‘True Lies,’ that provides fitness and enrichment programs for kids all across the country.”
Even if she’d had the time, however, “You can’t prepare for this. What I like about the show is that we’re so exhausted and overwhelmed with the tasks we’re asked to do, people’s true personalities come through,” she notes. “Yeah, people put on this happy face, but when push comes to shove, all that wears off. I got some interesting insights about people: ‘Oh, you really went to that place? How disappointing.”
It’s already a ridiculously busy year for Carrere, who has just started filming her new recurring role on the USA Network’s “In Plain Sight,” and is also juggling hosting-producing chores on two more shows she says are going into production soon. “One is called ‘Forsaken Places’ and the other is called ‘Street Stars,’” she says. “I’ve got to go to Vancouver, and Albuquerque — and there’s another movie that I might do that would mean going to Montreal and Louisiana.”
Carrere admits she finds it “very hard” to be away from her six-year-old daughter for long stretches, but credits her ex-husband, British photojournalist Simon Wakelin for stepping up. “Bianca’s daddy is terrific about being right there.”

Anupam Kher to meet his fans from across the globe
For Anupam Kher, it isn’t enough to be on a social network regularly. Unlike other celebrities who bond with their followers on the popular social network (Twitter) and then leave it that, Anupam wants to personally meet these folks with whom he has established a virtual bond.
The actor has devised an ingenious plan to meet up with his virtual family on a geographical basis. In every major city of the world where Anupam would happen to visit, he will invite his friends from the social network for an evening of bonding at a common venue.
Anupam has already hosted two such parties at posh suburban hotels in two different cities of the world. A third is to follow very shortly.
Anupam calls these meetings ‘Tweet Talks’.
Explaining his methodology of bonding globally, Anupam says, “For me it is not enough to just know my followers on Twitter. I need to meet them to really understand our bonding. Earlier this year when I was shooting in Edinburgh, I had my first Tweet meet. My followers drive in from miles outside the city to attend the party. The Tweet meet was so successful in Edinburgh that I’ve just hosted another very successful Tweet in Toronto where folks from as far as Vancouver attended.”
Now Anupam will have a third Tweet meet in London. “I’ll be shooting in London next month for Rohit Dhawan’s Desi Boyz. My Twitter followers from London and around the city will attend.”
For Anupam bonding globally is a big thing. Last month he lectured at the prestigious Kellogg School of Management.
“And I didn’t lecture about cinema or Bollywood. I spoke on the power to change lives. It feels good to reach out beyond cinema.”

Four fighters took home an extra $85,000 for their performances on Saturday’s UFC 115 card in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, as Rich Franklin, Mirko Cro Cop, Carlos Condit and Rory MacDonald were awarded the “Fight NIght” bonuses for the event.
Franklin earned the night’s “Knockout of the Night” for his first round knockout of Chuck Liddell in the night’s main event. The KO came with five seconds left in the round after Franklin had broken his left arm blocking a kick early in the fight.
Cro Cop took home the “Submission of the Night” for his surprising rear naked choke victory over Pat Barry in the third round of the co-main event. After surviving a first round that saw Barry damage the left side of his face, Cro Cop turned the fight in his favor in the second, and dropped Barry with a flurry in the third before locking on the choke.
Cro Cop’s face began to swell horribly. The announcers speculated that his jaw was broken. Cro Cop threw Pat Barry and got a take down. Then he landed a combination of punches that set the crowd on fire. Then they traded hugs! Then back to exchanging blows. Barry ended with a high kick that just missed.
Mirko looked really bad going into round two. He threw two big left high kicks to open. Then he landed with a kick to the body. And he surged forward behind a punching combination. This is a proud man! Barry with more leg kicks. They tied up and Mirko attacked Barry’s thighs with hammer fists then threw Barry down briefly. More knees to the bodies preceded a ref restart. Cro Cop advanced behind double jabs. Then a side kick landed for the Croation. Barry slipped on a high kick and Mirko locked on a front choke. Then he put Barry down on his back. Barry managed to hold Mirko close, but Filopovic worked for better position and attained mount. Then he got Barry’s back and worked for a rear naked choke! Barry flipped over but Cro Cop held dominant position to the end of the round. Great come back for Filopovic.

A bruised Pat Barry looked at a shattered Mirko Filopovic across the cage to start round three. They hugged a gain then got to business. Cro Cop fired combinations. Then he landed an axe kick! Cro Cop ducked a right hand and got body hooks. Barry timed a high kick and kicked his leg out from under him, dropping Cro Cop on his ass. Barry pinged with leg kicks. Barry tagged him with a left. Cro Cop answered with an uppercut. And another followed by a combination of hooks. Then they clinched near the cage where they traded standing elbows. Cro Cop landed more. The ref restarted them again . Cro Cop landed hard and poured it on. Then he dropped Barry and pounded away. Cro Cop whaled away and looked at the ref asking for a stoppage. Not getting it, he went for the rear naked choke and got the finish.

The fabulous fight Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald will be started on this 12 June 2010 as all the other UFC 115 fights. This is done as a part of the main card fight and is along with the main event Liddell vs. Franklin. It will be in the UFC 115 Main fights Card and is held at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
This fight or bout – Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald is a rattling one and is as a part of the UFC 115 and is under the title
welterweight and it is welterweight championship. The fight is between two BJJ experts and boxing experts so it will be an action packed one.
On the one hand is Carlos Condit who is a Canadian professional mixed martial arts fighter. He was born on 22nd July 1989. He is good in BJJ, Kickboxing, boxing and also in Muay Thai. He is also called Natural born Killer and is from the team Jackson’s Submission Fighting. He is currently fighting for UFC under the title Welterweight and is having MMA records of 24 wins from 19 fights he had fought. The welterweight showdown between Jesse Lennox and Mike Pyle kicked off the night.
The fight started with Lennox and Pyle feeling each other out on their feet. Each fighter landed a few shots, with Lennox pressing the pace while Pyle was elusive. Near the four-minute mark, Lennox landed a huge right hand that stunned Pyle, but when he went in for the finish, Pyle landed a punch of his own that put Lennox on one knee.
Pyle dove on Lennox on the ground, but didn’t land much offense as the final seconds of round one dwindled.
To start round two, Pyle had found his range on his feet, landing punches and slipping Lennox’s strikes. Pyle got the edge on the ground as well, and looked to be gaining momentum.
In the third round, the two traded leg kicks, but after a while, Pyle start to land the better shots. Pyle used his reach and picked away at Lennox by getting in, landing a punch, and getting out of striking range. Pyle was cruising to a decision victory when Lennox landed a big shot in the final minute.
Once again, he went in for the kill and his aggression cost him.

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA – While Ken Jeong, Scarlett Johansson and Sandra Bulluck were memorable for quite different reasons, they are the talk of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.
Jeong, who won “Best WTF Moment” for his jumping out of the trunk naked scene in The Hangover, started off being funny, but he soon became emotional during his acceptance speech as he talked about his wife, who has been cancer free for two years.
Overall, “The Hangover” snatched up two awards, Zach Galifianakis winning “Best Comedic Performance” for his role in the movie.
On the lighter – and definitely more sexual – side, Bullock and Johansson locked lips, much like Bullock and Meryl Streep did at an earlier Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. We are not sure if this is going to be a trend for Bullock, but it was definitely another suprising acceptance speech. The Hangover’s Ed Helms and Ken Jeong do a tribute to cinema. Ken Jeong’s outfit, or lack of, have me covering my eyes. I do enjoy Helm’s “Doug Song.” One of my favorite scenes from the Hangover. Less Grossman is back! Tom Cruise is quietly stealing the show with his ridiculous performance. Yesterday if you told me Tom Cruise and J-Lo performing a J-Lo and Ludacris mash up would be funny; I would have slapped your face.
Every commercial I see for Inception gets me more and more excited to see it
The award for Best Scared as Ish Performance should go to Copley for District 9 – instead it goes to Amanda Seyfried for Jennifer’s Body. WOW she’s skinny.
Harry Potter is back. People go nuts over this stuff. I’ve somehow only managed to half of one of those movies. One day I’ll purposely watch them all, but not sure when that’s going to happen.
I usually hate the award for Best Kiss but this year they added nice touch with the Kiss Cam. Reminds me of a Laker game. This award reminded me how much I hate the Celtics and The Proposal. Another Twilight victory in the books. The Twilight series has dominated the past few years and we have two more movies left.
