Search operation in Kala Dhaka on tip off: Bilour
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa senior minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour on Monday said the Frontier Corps was conducting a search operation in Kala Dhaka over presence of suspected militants there.
He was interacting with media persons after meeting the representatives of World Health Organization here.
On the information of already arrested militants, the provincial government took the tribal leaders of Kala Dhaka into confidence ahead of the operation, he said.
To a question, Bilour said:” We have nothing to do with Faisal Shahzad, who is a US citizen.”
The main reason for spread of Hepatitis C is unhygienic water, he said, adding the WHO has donated seven kits for the test of polluted water.
Additional responsibilities handed to provinces in 18th Amendment: PM
LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the enactment of 18th Amendment lays additional responsibility upon the provinces to resolve the problems of common man.
He was talking to Punjab Governor, Salman Taseer who called on Prime Minister at his residence here Monday.
The prime minister said the responsibilities of all the institutions have also been clearly reflected in the 18th Amendment, adding that this would help in establishing better relations among the institutions.
The Prime Minister said that the government has given policies in various sectors and it is expected that the provincial governments would be able to speed up the implementation so that common man can benefit.
Earlier, Governor Punjab Salman Taseer apprised the Prime Minister about the progress of various federal government projects as well as overall political and security situation in the province.
Drone Technology Transfer Demanded By Pakistan

PAKISTAN, ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has demanded transfer of drone technology to Pakistan.
In a meeting with US Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke on Monday the prime minister said that the drone strikes affecting Pakistan’s efforts in the war against terrorism.
The visiting envoy discussed the bilateral cooperation on war on terror, repatriation and rehabilitation of displaced persons of Malakand division and US aid and assistance for the development of various sectors of Pakistan.
The issue of US drone attacks was also came under discussion in the meeting, it was reported.
