Pakistan VS India Semi-Final: Blue Shirts set the target of 261
Blue shirts have set the target of runs for green shirts in the Pakistan VS India 2nd semi-final of ICC World Cup 2011, at Punjab Cricket Association Ground Mohali. Sachin Tendulkar played the innings of 85 runs. Wahab Riaz made his selection right by picking 5 wickets.
According to details Indian Captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Aggressive Virender Sehwag played powerful strokes all around the ground. He hits five boundaries in the second over of Umar Gul. Sehwag was taken by Wahab Riaz when his score was 38. New batsman Gautam Gambhir and Tendulkar batted very well and added 68 runs in the second wicket partnership. Gambhir was stumped by wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal on the score of 27. Virat Kohli failed to play a big innings and was dismissed by Wahab. His score was 9. Wahab not give the chance to dangerman Yuvraj Singh to open his score account and clean bowled him on very first ball.
The innings of Tendulkar ended on 85. He faced 115 balls for this score. MS Dhoni became the fourth wicket of Wahab, his LBW review carries no advantage. Harbhajan Singh bowled out by on 12. Zaheer Khan turned back to pavilion after scoring 9 runs. Ashish Nehra goes runout on the second last ball of innings. India posted the total of 260/9 in the limited number of overs. Wahab Riaz was the best Pakistani bowler with five wickets. Saeed Ajmal finished the innings of two Indian players.

India lose 7th wicket at 236 runs against Pak
MOHALI: India lost its seventh batsman, Harbhajan Singh, in the World Cup semifinal at 236 runs. Ajmal Saeed balled and Kamran Akmal stamped out Harbhajan after scoring 12 runs.
Earlier Pakistan took 6th Indian wicket of skipper Mahinder Singh Dhoni on 205 runs. He scored 25 runs and faced 42 balls before getting out by lbw on Wahab Riaz’s ball.
India lost its 5th wicket of Sachin Tendulkar on 187 runs. Tendulkar scored 85 runs but failed to make his historical 100th century in today’s crucial semifinal between India and Pakistan. Skipper Shahid Afridi took catch of Tendulkar on spinner Saeed Ajamal’s ball.
India lost its 4th wicket of Yuv Raj Singh on 141. Singh returned to pavilion without scoring any run as he was clean bowled by Wahab Riaz.
Before Singh, Kohli, Gambhir and Sehwag returned to the pavilion.
INDIA WIN TOSS AND ELECT TO BAT V PAKISTAN
India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in their World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
Pakistan named an unchanged team from the lineup who beat West Indies in the quarter-finals while India brought in paceman Ashish Nehra for off-spinner Ravichandran Aswhin.
Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who will retire after the World Cup, was left out of the Pakistan XI.
The winner of the clash will meet Sri Lanka in Saturday’s final in Mumbai.
Centuries of Sehwag and Kohli picks Indian total to 370
With the centuries of Virender Sehwag and Virat Kohli Indian team sets a total of 370 runs in the first match against Bangladesh at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.
According to details Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. Openers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag started the innings confidently and played beautiful strokes all over the ground. Their partnership ended on 69 when confused Tendulkar reached into Sehwag’s crease, but he was ready not for run. The host fielders had not made any mistake and little master have to go back he scored 28 runs. Next batsman, Gautam Gambhir played sensibly along with Sehwag and continued scoring. When Indian total reached at 152, Gambhir couldn’t play the swinging delivery of Mahmudullah, and the ball hits the bails. He scored 39 runs on the equal number of balls.
Next, batsman Virat Kohli and played responsibly along with Sehwag. In 48th over Sehwag couldn’t understand the incoming delivery of Saqibul and the ball hit the wickets. He scored 175
runs with the help of five massive sixes and 14 boundries.
Kohli completed his hundred in the last over with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes he scored unbeatable 100 runs. Aggressive hitter Yusuf Pathan (8) bowled out by Shafiul on the last ball of the inngins. At the end Indian total was 370/4. Shafiul Islam, Saqibul Hasan and Mahmudullah took one wicket each.
Bangladesh now need 371 runs to win at 7.40 runs per over.
Irfan Pathan Out From World Cup Squad

World cup preliminary squad has been announcing by India and Irfan Pathan is not able to get his place in world cup preliminary squad. Kris Srikkanth, chairman of the selection committee said that it is the most suitable team selected for India as players has a lot of experience in playing in home conditions. He hoped that team will do good in world cup.
The 30 men squad includes MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma, Vinay Kumar, M Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane, Saurabh Tiwary, Yusuf Pathan, Parthiv Patel, R Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha, Dinesh Karthik, Shikhar Dhawan, Amit Mishra, Piyush Chawla, Cheteshwar Pujara, Pragyan Ojha and Praveen Kumar.
So far ODI team against South Africa is also not selected and it will be announce before 12th January before first game. Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara is also selected in the world cup squad. In the squad three wicket keepers are also included. Parthiv Patel, Dinesh Karthik is the other two keepers along with captain MS Dhoni. Yousaf Pathan is also able to get his place in the squad due to his majestic inning of 123 runs against New Zealand.
India under pressure in South Africa cricket Test
CENTURION: South Africa’s fast bowlers ripped out three Indian batsmen cheaply when the first Test got under way after a rain delay at SuperSport Park here on Thursday.
India, sent in to bat, were 55 for three at tea.
Dale Steyn had Virender Sehwag caught at third man for nought before Morne Morkel struck twice within five balls to dismiss Gautam Gambhir (5) and Rahul Dravid (14).

NAGPUR: Half-centuries from each of India’s top-order batsmen gave the hosts control of the third and final test after their bowlers had dismissed New Zealand for 193 on the second day on Sunday.
At the close, India had reached 292 for two for a lead of 99 runs, with the experienced duo of Rahul Dravid (69) and Sachin Tendulkar (57) at the crease.
Dravid, with his 60th fifty in tests, and Tendulkar, who needed 43 more for his 50th test hundred, have already added 100 runs for the unbroken third-wicket partnership.

GALLE: Opener Chris Gayle tormented Sri Lanka with a career best 333 as West Indies took control of the first test before declaring on 580-9 on Tuesday.
Gayle became the first West Indian to score a triple century on foreign soil and the fourth player to score two triple tons, joining Australian great Don Bradman, India’s Virender Sehwag and compatriot Brian Lara.
With the batsmen swiping away the Sri Lankan attack with ease on the placid pitch, West Indies looked set for a huge first innings total but the dismissal of Brendan Nash (64) sparked a collapse and the hosts hit back to claim six wickets for 21 runs.

HYDERABAD: Opener Brendon McCullum smashed a career-best 225 to help New Zealand draw the second Test against world number one India on Tuesday.
McCullum, playing his 54th Test, unleashed 22 fours and four sixes during his nine-hour innings as the tourists declared at their tea score of 448-8 on the fifth and final day of the match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
That left India — who made 472 in their first innings in reply to New Zealand’s 350 — with an improbable target of scoring 327 runs off 30 overs in the final session.
India’s openers Virender Sehwag (54 not out) and Gautam Gambhir (14 not out) took India to 68-0 when the rival captains agreed to call off the match one hour before the scheduled close.

HYDERABAD: India’s Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh picked up four wickets apiece to trigger a New Zealand batting collapse as the visitors folded up for 350 in their first innings of the second test on Saturday.
Resuming on a strong overnight score of 258-4 built on Tim McIntosh’s opening day ton, New Zealand added just 92 runs for the loss of six batsmen on day two at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
A watchful opening duo of Virender Sehwag (28) and Gautam Gambhir (29) then took India to 62 runs without loss at tea, continuing the hosts’ dominance on the second day.
In a fiery spell of left-arm swing bowling, Khan (4-69) trapped right-handers Gareth Hopkins (4) and Kane Williamson (4) leg before as he managed to get the ball to swing back from around the wicket.

HYDERABAD: New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori won the toss and chose to bat first in the second test against India at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday. The visitors made three changes to their side from the first test draw. Right-arm medium pacer Brent Arnel replaced injured Hamish Bennett while Martin Guptill and Tim Southee came in for BJ Watling and Jeetan Patel.
India were unchanged from the first test in Ahmedabad. The third and final test will be played in Nagpur from Nov. 20-24.
