JERUSALEM: Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad predicts a Palestinian state will be established by August 2011 through “positive facts on the ground,” in an interview published on Friday in an Israeli newspaper.
“The birth of a Palestinian state will be celebrated as a day of joy by the entire community of nations,” Fayyad told Israeli daily.
“The time for this baby to be born will come,” he said, “and we estimate it will come around 2011,” the prime minister said.
“That is our vision and a reflection of our will to exercise our right to live in freedom and dignity in the country where we are born, alongside the State of Israel, in complete harmony.”
Fayyad’s August 2011 target is based on a decision taken by the Palestinian leadership in August 2009 to establish a state within two years. Since then Fayyad has been building institutions for a de-facto state.

Shakira dedicated her award to all children suffering from violence and extreme poverty, the focus of her Barefoot Foundation, that takes its name from Shakira’s first album. She added that witnessing extreme poverty as a girl “shaped my dream and my vision of social justice.”

LOS ANGELES: American musician John Mayer has confessed he’ll always love ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston and regrets the fact he couldn’t be a more mature lover for her.

The couple split in 2009 after a brief romance and Aniston is now reportedly dating Scottish actor Gerard Butler, but Mayer can’t get the “Friends” star out of his head.
“I’ll always be sorry that it didn’t last. In some ways I wish I could be with her. But I can’t change the fact that I need to be 32,” he said.
“Parts of me aren’t 32. My ability to go deep with somebody is old soul. My ability to commit and be faithful is old soul. But 32 just comes roaring out of me at points when I don’t see it coming… I don’t want to pet dogs in the kitchen.”
He adds: “I had seen splitting up with her as akin to burning an American flag… I felt as though I’d done something wrong and was going to be punished for it.
“When the media picked up on it, it was the worst week of my life… All I can remember is that I was about to lose my vision. My emotional tissue was about to tear.”

Gen Tariq Lashes Out at Indian Army Chief
RAWALPINDI, Pakistan News: Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Tariq Majid on Saturday rubbished the Indian media report which states that the Indian Armed Forces are preparing to fight China and said that Indian Army Chief knows very well the capacity of the Pakistan armed forces.
General Tariq doubted veracity of Indian media report attributed to General Kapoor stating that “he could not be so outlandish in strategic postulations to fix India on a self destruct mechanism. But if the news report is correct, the uncalled for rhetoric only betrays lack of strategic acumen”, he added.
In an interview, General Tariq said, “Leave alone China, General Deepak Kapoor knows very well what the Indian Armed Forces can not and Pakistan Armed Forces can pull off militarily”.
