Interpol to be moved against Musharraf

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan will ask Interpol to circulate a global arrest warrant for former president Pervez Musharraf over the murder of ex-premier Benazir Bhutto, a prosecutor said on Saturday.
A court last week gave prosecutors until April 2 to serve a warrant granted in February on Musharraf, who was president when Bhutto was killed in December 2007 in a gun and suicide bomb attack in Rawalpindi.
Musharraf, who lives in self-imposed exile in London, is accused of failing to provide her with adequate security.
“We presented three letters in the court which have been sent to the British government for the execution of the warrants,” prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali said.
“We have not yet received any report from the British home department and now we will write to Interpol to help execute the warrants,” Ali said.
Musharraf is alleged to have been part of a “broad conspiracy” to have his political rival killed before elections, though the exact nature of the charges against him is not clear.
SC Dismisses Plea Against Holding Of By-Polls In NA-123
Supreme Court has rejected the petition challenging the holding of by-polls in NA-123, however the SC decisions has been conditioned with the elections result.
A 3-member bench, headed by Justice Javed Iqbal heard the case. The petition was filed by a candidate Ilyas Gujjar in which he challenged the new nominations for the said seat.
Cotecna case: Court Re-issued Warrants Against Foreign Directors
A Rawalpindi’s Accountability Court reissued the warrants against six foreign directors accused in the Cotecna reference case against President Asif Ali Zardari, Nusrat Bhutto, AR Siddiqui and others.
The court asked the details regarding health of Nusrat Bhutto co-accused in the case.
Further hearing was adjourned till April 2.
Court Issues Arrest Warrant of Rehman Malik

KARACHI: The Accountability court has issued arrest warrants of Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday.
Accountability court judge Mir Muhammad Shaikh has issued the warrants in NAB reference. Earlier, NAB had filed a petition in Rawalpindi accountability court for the restoration of references against 19 persons including Rehman Malik.
