Wellington Test:Clarke-North Maul Kiwis On Day 1
Australia registered a dominating 316/4 at stumps on Day 1 of the first Test against New Zealand at Wellington.
Michael Clarke emerged as the wrecker-in-charge for the Aussies right in time.

He was given apt support by Marcus North who slammed a gutsy fifty. Brent Arnel did manage to get two wickets in the form of Phillip Hughes (20) and Simon Katich (82), but it was not enough to put pressure on the Australians.
Skipper Ricky Ponting looked good during his 41-run stay at the turf but was unfortunately run out just when he had set his eyes on another Test century.
New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori, who was wicketless on the first day, would look for early breakthroughs in the first session of Day 2 or his hopes of earning an edge in the Test rubber would vanish instantly.

DEL Vs CHN IPL live Cricket Score Today
DEL Vs CHN IPL live Cricket Score Today, The Mongoose bat and brilliant skills did it all for Matthew Hayden as he steered Chennai Super Kings past the 50-run mark against Delhi Daredevils at the Ferozshah Kotla stadium here on Friday.
Watch Live Cricket
Chennai Super Kings got a superb start to the target chase of 186 runs, thanks to Matthew Hayden. However, his opening partner, Parthiv Patel could not keep him company for long as he was run-out by AB de Villiers for just 6 runs.
After being criticized for poor fielding in their previous matches, the Delhi Daredevils clearly worked upon that aspect; an evidence for the same was the way de Villiers dismissed Patel. Later, Amit Mishra’s efforts, almost got Hayden out, but unfortunately or fortunately, you may decide that, Haydos was faster than expected.
Later, a superb catch by Amit Mishra departed S Badrinath for 14 runs, leaving the onus again on Hayden, who also claimed his eight IPL fifty.
Earlier, A dazzling 74-run innings by Daredevilish Virender Sehwag and wonders by Mithun Manhas in the late-overs guided Delhi to 185/6 against Chennai Super Kings in their IPL encounter at the Ferozshah Kotla stadium here on Friday.
Captain Dinesh Karthik earlier won the toss for Delhi Daredevils and decided to make complete use of the high-scoring Kotla pitch by opting to bat first.
What started as a high-volatage innings for Delhi, slopped down in between but made a super comeback in the death overs, thanks to the heart-rending 74 by Sehwag and some powerful display of shots by Manhas (32) in the late overs.
Opening the innings with David Warner, Sehwag clearly intended to give nightmares to Chennai bowlers. The Nawab of Najafgarh hit a sparkling 74 with the help of ten smashing boundaries and three sky-high sixes to claim his sixth IPL fifty.
Even after the dismissal of Warner (6), Sehwag continued to created havoc along with Tilakaratne Dilshan (15). After much toiling, Raina took a fantastic catch at the short mid-wicket to dismiss Dilshan of a Muttiah-Muralitharan delivery.
After Dilshan’s delivery, Delhi hoped Sehwag to keep going. But a couple of balls later, Justin Kemp took a stunner of catch at the long off to end Sehwag’s scintillating innings, giving some breathing space to Chennai Super Kings.
The jitters for Delhi did not end there as again Raina caught AB de Villiers (3), leaving Delhi a bit worried at 107/4.
Nevertheless, the fall of wickets did not dampen the Daredevils’ hopes as skipper Dinesh Karthik (19), Rajat Bhatia (21) and Mithun Manhas played some powerful shots to help Delhi post quite a decent score of 185/6 against Chennai.
Both the teams played without their original captains as Gautam Gambhir’s hamstring injury forced him out of Friday’s match and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s elbow injury ruled him out of the IPL for two weeks.

In the absence of Dhoni, Raina had been appointed the stand in skipper of the Chennai Super Kings, which made him the youngest captain ever in the history of the Indian Premier League.

March Madness Trivia & Fun Facts
The phrase “March Madness” was coined by Henry V. Porter in 1939 to describe an Illinois high school basketball tourney. Brent Musburger first used it during NCAA coverage in 1982 causing a legal battle almost as insane as the playoffs.
But everyone finally worked things out and the madness was official. There isn’t a good record of who first called the playoffs “The Big Dance”, but it does describe the action.

National Games Postponed
LAHORE: Country’s annual National Games, scheduled to be held in Peshawar this month, have been postponed because of security concerns, the National Olympic Committee said on Tuesday.
The games are the latest sporting event to be affected by security worries in the country that has been hit by a series of militant attacks, including the ambush of the Sri Lanka cricket team’s bus last year.
On Tuesday the International Tennis Federation moved a Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group-II semi-final tie scheduled in Lahore in July to New Zealand after a request from the visiting team.
National Olympic Committee president Arif Hasan told a news conference in Lahore after a meeting of the executive council that the security situation in the country and Peshawar had prompted the postponement of the games.
“Teams are already not willing to come to Pakistan because of the security issues and we don’t want a situation where a domestic event is also affected by some incident,” Hasan said.
The National Games are the biggest domestic sporting event in Pakistan and more than 3,000 athletes take part in different disciplines.
Hasan said the relevant authorities in Peshawar were not willing to give security clearance for the games at this stage.
“We took the prevailing situation in the country into consideration and felt the best thing at this stage was to postpone the games,” he said.
“There was also pressure from parents and associations to postpone the games and obviously nothing is more important to us than the safety of our athletes and officials.”
The National Games have already been postponed once before last year due to security issues.
Hasan said new dates in December were subject to security clearance.
There has been a surge of militant strikes in Peshawar since the army went on the offensive against Pakistani Taliban militants in their South Waziristan stronghold on the Afghan border last October.
Last week suicide bombers targeting the Pakistani military killed at least 45 people in Lahore.
England Win 1st Test Against Bangladesh
CHITTAGONG: Graeme Swann completed a maiden 10-wicket match-haul as England ended Bangladesh’s resistance with a 181-run victory in the opening Test on Tuesday.

Watch Live Cricket
Junaid Siddique hit a solid 106 for his maiden Test century and Mushfiqur Rahim an impressive 95 to frustrate the tourists before Bangladesh were bowled out for 331 on the fifth and final day, chasing an improbable 513-run target.
Off-spinner Swann, who took five wickets in the first innings, finished with 5-127 off 49 overs in the second.
England, denied success for more than two sessions by left-handed Siddique and wicket-keeper Rahim, heaved a sigh of relief when Swann removed both batsmen in his opening four overs after lunch.
Swann struck in his first over after the break when he had Siddique caught by Paul Collingwood in the slips before accounting for Rahim, who was bowled after he stepped out to drive the spinner and missed the line.
Rahim, who came in to bat after five wickets fell for 110 before the tea break on Monday, was involved in a 167-run stand for the sixth wicket with Siddique before missing out on his second Test hundred.
Siddique hit 17 fours in his 292-ball knock and Rahim 12 in a 232-ball innings.
Bangladesh’s innings lasted only 10 more overs after the dismissals of Siddique and Rahim, with paceman Stuart Broad and Tim Bresnan, and Swann sharing the last three wickets.
Siddique and Rahim kept the England attack at bay in the morning session with their determined knocks, helping their team add 86 to their overnight total of 191-5.
Skipper Alastair Cook took the new ball after 80 overs, but his pacemen Broad, Bresnan and debutant Steven Finn failed to unsettle the Bangladeshi pair.
Siddique, 68 not out on Monday, completed his hundred in style as he drove Finn through the covers for a four to reach 96 and then smashed the same bowler through mid-off for another boundary.
Rahim, who made 79 in the first innings, completed his second successive half-century early in the morning when he drove Finn through the covers for a four.

Siddique offered a difficult chance on 106 when he attempted to cut Swann, but wicketkeeper Matt Prior failed to hold on to it.
