Crude Oil slips further down
Crude oil falls further, pounded by continued worries over euro-zone sovereign debt, the pace of U.S. economic recovery and swelling petroleum stockpiles.
Light, sweet crude oil for June delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange settled down by 62 cents a barrel at $73.78.
London Brent North Sea delivery contracts down by 64 cents at $79.66 cents.
Violent clashes erupt in Bangkok
A foreign journalist was killed during anti-government protest in Thai capital Bangkok, while many others have been injured.
Violent clashes erupted when protesters encircled a check post. Troops fired tear gas and bullets the protesters who responded with stones, slingshots and homemade rockets, turning central Bangkok into a battlefield as the military moved to seal off a broad area where the so-called red shirts have camped for weeks.
Embassies were closed as protesters set fire to a police bus and shot fireworks at troops, who also responded with tear gas and rubber bullets. A protester was also killed last night.
Volcanic ash closes 7 Spanish airports

MADRID: Spanish authorities said seven airports are closed because of ash from the volcano in Iceland.
The Spanish National Airport Authority says airports in the Canary islands of Tenerife, La Palma and La Gomera are closed since 5 a.m. (0300 GMT) Tuesday, likely affecting dozens of tourist flights.
On mainland Spain, airports at Seville and Jerez in the south and Badajoz in the east were closed at 6 a.m. (0400 GMT).
The agency says elsewhere in Spain restrictions continue for planes flying between 20,000 feet and 35,000 feet above the ground, mainly affecting trans-Atlantic flights to and from other European countries.
Up to 20 Spanish airports, including international hub Barcelona, closed over the weekend because of the ash.
Judicial crisis blocked resolution of Kashmir issue: Kasoori
LAHORE: Former foreign minister Khursheed Kasoori said that due to judicial crisis of 2007 Kashmir issue could not be solved.
He was speaking in a programme organized under ”Aman Ki Asha” initiative.
During Musharraf regime Pakistan and India were closed to resolve Kashmir dispute and both parties, Pakistan and India had agreed on a joint mechanism to settle the issue.
”Kashmiris demanded right of self-determination and withdrawal of all Indian forces from the occupied territory,” Kasoori said.
”Indian PM Manmohan was to visit Pakistan in late 2006 but Indian elections and judicial crisis in Pakistan sabotaged all efforts”.
It was also decided that the parties would not claim victories after the talks, Kasoori added.

TrendPK.com KARACHI: An FIR has been registered against unidentified miscreants for yesterday bomb blast at Nursery area at Sharah-e-Faisal and Jinnah Hospital, Geo News reported Saturday.
The FIR has been registered with SHO Ferozabad Police station Aurangzeb as plaintiff.
The FIR for the Jinnah Hospital blast has been registered at Saddar Police station.
Operation In Swat Soldier Martyred: ISPR
Peshawar: Seven terrorists killed and one soldier was martyred while two soldiers were wounded during exchanges of progress in Charai near Malam jaba in the Swat district, an ISPR statement here on Wednesday.
Search and cleanup operations continue in Swat and Malakand. In Swat, security forces in control of the search operation near Malam Jabba Charai and during the exchange of the shot with terrorists, one soldier embraced martyrdom and 2 soldiers were wounded. Up to seven terrorists were killed.
As many as 11 terrorists voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Sarsanai, shadhand Banda and Bar Shaur while11 suspect terrorists were apprehended at Dosara Banda, Bartan, Nalkot Bagh Dheri and Rahatkot.
Local Jirga handed over a terrorist to security forces at Bar Kabulgram near Martung. In Bajaur Agency security forces conducted search operation at Nawaga Bazaar and apprehended local terrorists commander along with 5 accomplices. A wanted terrorist Kalam Khan voluntarily surrendered at Khar.
Regarding relief activities, as many as 10 trucks of mix rations have been distributed amongst the IDPs of Bajaur. As many as 294,841 cash cards have been distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand.

Partial Strike In Balochistan
QUETTA: A partial strike has been observed today throughout Balochistan on the call of Baloch National Front.
Most of the shops were closed while the traffic remained thin than usual in provincial capital Quetta where a partial strike was observed.
While, a complete shutter-down was witnessed in various other parts of the province, including Mastong, Kalat, Kohlo, Sui and Dera Bugti.
Strict security measures have been taken by the authorities to avoid any untoward situation, it was reported.
