Obama says Gaddafi regime collapsing in Libya
OAK BLUFFS: U.S. President Barack Obama said on Sunday that Muammar Gaddafi’s rule was showing signs of collapse and called on the Libyan leader to relinquish power to avoid further casualties.
“The surest way for the bloodshed to end is simple: Moammar Gaddafi and his regime need to recognize that their rule has come to an end. Gaddafi needs to acknowledge the reality that he no longer controls Libya. He needs to relinquish power once and for all,” Obama said in a statement.
“We will continue to work with our allies and partners in the international community to protect the people of Libya, and to support a peaceful transition to democracy,” Obama said. AGENCIES
Formers stop cotton picking
In reaction to it formers stopped cotton picking, rendering thousands of women jobless. Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association continued their strike against the imposition of withholding Tax, due to which factory owners stopped buying cotton. This situation has endangered the jobs of millions of cotton-pickers. Ginners Association representatives say they will continue their strike until the withdrawal of the tax.
Zardari vows to unearth BBs killers
President Asif Ali Zardari said that killers of Benazir Bhutto (BB) would be uncovered at any cost.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, the president said that democratic government will continue reconciliation process. He said that the government will fulfill all the promises made with people. He said that Swat would be made an exemplary city. He said that extremists were wiped out of Swat and the government established its writ in the area. He said that Kaladhaka will also be an ideal city like Islamabad.
Punjab: CNG stations remain closed on second consecutive day
LAHORE: Several areas of Punjab, including Lahore, face suspension of gas on the second consecutive day on Tuesday (today).
Sui Northern officials said that due to the National Energy Saving Campaign, gas suspension to Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Sahiwal and Faisalabad will continue on the second day also; more than 2000 CNG stations will remain closed till Wednesday morning.
CNG stations in Potohar and Bahawalpur will remain closed on Friday and Saturday.
On the other hand, several industrial units of Punjab, including Lahore, face gas outage on the fifth day today, leaving laborers jobless.
Sui Northern sources say that the suspension of gas is for an indefinite period. TrendPK
JST protests against Sindh government

KARACHI: Hundreds of the workers of Jeay Sindh Tehreek (JST) staged a rally from Sachal Goth to Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Sunday, demanding the Sindh government to support flood victims immediately.
The JST Chairman Dr Safdar Sarki, while addressing the rally participants outside the KPC, alleged that the flood victims have not been given due help by the government.
“The Sindh government has did nothing for them. The government is failed in helping these needy people.”

MECCA: Hajis are completing last rituals of Haj and will return back to Mecca after performing Rami (stoning the devil), Trend Pk learnt Thursday.
Hajis will spend one night in Mecca after performing all three Rami and will start their departure from tomorrow after doing their last circumambulate.
PIA will start their Haj flights from November 21, 2010 which will continue till December 21.

KARACHI: There will be no load shedding during Eid in the city; this was decided by Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) on Tuesday.
According a KESC spokesman, it has been decided that continuous power supply will be provided during Eid holidays to the metropolis.
KESC’s Eid power supply schedule will start from 6:00pm Tuesday (today) and end on Saturday at 9:00am. During this entire period, uninterrupted supply of electricity will continue across the city.
The spokesman added that it is expected that during Eid, electricity demand will decline; KESC has also made other arrangements to get the required power supply to overcome the difference between demand and supply during these holidays. Trend Pk
KESC cuts load shedding duration for residential areas

KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has announced different duration of load shedding for commercial and residential areas Monday.
According to the KESC spokesperson, three hours load shedding will be held in the residential areas where the power theft is at minimum level while seven hours power cut will be experienced in those areas where the power theft is on peak.

LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is confident that his government will complete its constitutional term and will also emerge the winner in the next general election.
Addressing a gathering of the party’s parliamentary leaders here on Saturday, he said that PPP will not deviate from its reconciliatory policy with PML-N, despite political challenges.
“We are keeping our promise on the charter of democracy and will continue to do so in the future also,” he said.
PPP, he said, ended politics of vendetta, due to which there is no political prisoner in the country.
The meeting also reviewed the overall performance of the government over the last two and half years.

LAHORE: The Senior Minister of Punjab, Raja Riaz, has said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will continue to provide support to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Punjab.
Raja Riaz, talking to media after meeting Punjab’s Chief Minister at CM House, said that neither any in-house change is taking place in the center and nor any mid-term elections will be held. The government will complete its term.
Punjab’s Senior Minister added that the Chief Minister of Punjab has also assured, not to support undemocratic forces.
He added that I have expressed my protest to the CM Punjab, over the statement of Rana Sanaullah and he has assured to take notice of it.
