PML-Ns parliamentary committee to submit recommendations to Nawaz today
Fifteen-member Parliamentary committee of PML-N headed by Raja Zafarul Haq will present its recommendations to the party chief Nawaz Sharif regarding formation of new provinces.
The committee has proposed that the new provinces should be formed on administrative and population basis instead of ethnic basis.
It has been stressed in the recommendations that distribution of resources should be made certain before the formation of new provinces on administrative basis instead of dividing one or two provinces.
PML-N will decide its policy today regarding formation of new provinces in the light of committee’s recommendations.
US worries about repeat of Mumbai attacks: Mullen

WASHINGTON: The US military”s top-ranking officer said Thursday he feared extremists might launch another attack on India, similar to the 2008 rampage in Mumbai, in a bid to spark a war with arch-rival Pakistan.
Speaking to reporters on board his plane bound for New Delhi, Admiral Mike Mullen praised India for showing restraint in the aftermath of the bloody November 2008 attacks that left 166 dead.
“I”ve worried a great deal about a repeat attack, of something like that,” Mullen said. The admiral said he wanted “to focus on making sure this doesn”t happen again”.
Direct peace talks decision in seven days: Abbas

RAMALLAH: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday said he would decide in the next seven days whether conditions are now ripe to proceed to face-to-face peace talks with Israel.
“If there is progress by July 28, we will present it to the Arab League. If there is no progress, we will tell the League that we will continue with the proximity talks until the end of the four-month mandate we received,” Abbas said.
The Arab League committee that approved the indirect talks is due to convene in Cairo on July 29.

Hamesh Khan to be presented in SC today
The National Accountability Bureau will present former President of Bank of Punjab Hamesh Khan in the Supreme Court today.
According to sources, NAB authorities will submit Khans earlier statement in court, while Khan will present his own statement before the court as well. The hearing is scheduled to start after 9:30am. The former president of Bank of Punjab was in NAB custody as investigations into the Bank of Punjab fraud case were underway. The high-profile banker was escorted from New York to Lahore by NAB under directions of the Supreme Court, following which he was put under a two week remand. The security of Hamesh Khan has been tightened after orders from Interior Department Punjab. The hearing of the case will be done by a three member bench, presided by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

PML-N Demands Musharraf Trial Under Article 6
ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary party meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has unanimously passed a resolution demanding trial of former military ruler General (R) Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution.
PML-N parliamentary party met here Thursday to deliberate on party’s stance on the issues being debated in the ongoing session of the National Assembly.
The party had announced yesterday that it will present a resolution before the NA to press the house to approve Mushrraf’ trial for violations of the Constitution and misdeeds committed by him during eight-year-long rule.
