64d708a1a6ttacks David Headley Admits Role In Mumbai AttacksUS citizen of Pakistani origin David Headley has admitted 12 counts of conspiracy. He pleaded guilty to scouting targets for the 2008 attacks on the Indian city of Mumbai.

Prosecutors will therefore ask for a lesser sentence since Headley was cooperating with the prosecutors, but US District Court Judge Harry Leinenweber said Headley could still be jailed for life. David Headley, at his trial in Chicago, also admitted plotting to attack a Danish newspaper that published a cartoon many Muslims deemed offensive.

Headley, 49, had denied the charges but changed his plea to avoid the death penalty or extradition to India, Pakistan or Denmark.

His knee was injured in a Twenty20 match against New Zealand at Dubai last year due to which he could not play for Pakistan in the series against New Zealand, Australia and England. He was also not included in the list of 30 probable players for the forthcoming T20 World Cup.

Doctors have advised him surgery of his knee and Sohail will therefore leave Lahore on Saturday night for Melbourne where Dr Young will operate his knee.

918932d19150x150 Musharraf treason case: SHC directs publishing call notice in papersKarachi, Pakistan:- The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday directed to publish a notice in newspapers to summon former president Pervez Musharraf for hearing of a petition filed to register treason case against him.

The petitioner Maulvi Iqbal Haider told the court that notices were not being received at former president’s residence in Chak Shahzad and report of disobedience had also come. The high court directed the petitioner to get permission and issue notices in newspapers.

Maulvi Iqbal Haider took position in constitutional petition being heard since March 28 that Pervez Musharraf violated his oath of office and overthrew the elected government. He suspended the constitution twice and made amendments according to his own will therefore treason case should be filed against him, the petition stated.
