Tiger Woods vows to make strong comeback

After a tumultuous year that included a sex scandal, divorce and a shortened, winless season on the PGA Tour, Tiger Woods said Tuesday that he’s continuing to improve his game and his life.

As a golfer I learned so much more this year than any other year, and as a person infinitely more, Woods said after practicing for the Chevron World Challenge, an 18-player tournament at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks that benefits Woods’ charities.

So it’s been a very successful year even though it was a very painful year as well, said Woods, 34, a winner of 14 major championships who’s made major changes to his golf swing to help him win again.

Woods has won the Chevron World Challenge four times but has missed the tournament the last two years. He was recovering from knee surgery in 2008, and last year he withdrew because the event came only days after his Thanksgiving night car accident in Florida that set in motion his sensational sex scandal.Woods also lost golf’s No. 1 ranking — a position he held for more than five consecutive years — last month when Lee Westwood of England took the top spot.

Earl Woods

Earl Woods, Earl Dennison Woods (March 5, 1932 – May 3, 2006) was a US Army infantry  officer who served two tours of duty in Vietnam, and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was a college-level baseball player, writer, and father of top golfer Tiger Woods. Earl Woods started Tiger Woods in golf at a very young age, and coached him exclusively for his early years in the sport.

HYDERABAD: Sania Mirza Marriage Photos, Chief Qazi of Hyderabad Deccan Najamuddin has said that the Nikah of Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza is not going to take place today (Friday) and the statement of Azmatullah Jafri in this regard has no substance.

He said Azmatullah cannot execute Nikah of the couple without his permission.

Najamuddin Hussain said he himself would carry out Nikah of Shoaib and Sania.

Meanwhile, the father of Sania Mirza said the wedding celebrations will be kicked off from April 13.

Woods 2 back: Ian Poulter,Lee Westwood In Masters Lead

Augusta (Georgia), England’s Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter handled a tougher Augusta National to share the Masters lead as both chase their first major championship and attempt to hold off Tiger Woods.

Poulter, who once boasted that it would be just him and Woods when he reached his potential, made his only bogey on the 18th hole for a second straight 68. Westwood had everything from an eagle to a double bogey in his wild round of 69 yesterday.

They were at 8-under 136 after two rounds – the first time either of them has been in the lead in a major.

Two shots behind was Woods, a position that has surprised just about everybody except him.

“I usually put myself in contention most of the time here,” Woods said after a 2-under 70. “And this year, I’m right there. (PTI)

Junior’s Cheesecake

My first foray into good restaurant cheesecake at the Carnegie Deli in Times Square. I got a slice thought I would try it, just to say I had it. The first piece sold me forever! Wow, this is great stuff! It was so good we went back again the next day for more. Actually, I have half of a mine in the freezer right now!

On my last trip to NYC, my wife and I had seen Junior on the Bobby Flay “Throw Down” show, and we wanted to try it. I did not go out of my way to find it, but while walking through Grand Central Station, it was a Juniors!

Tiger Woods is to bring enough baggage with him to the Masters this weekend. The other players are good sports about nonsense, because so many of them frankly admitted already, he is their meal ticket. Every tournament Tiger set on having more fans, more cameras, more time on Sports Center, and most importantly, a bigger bag.

If you are not a person who takes the stupidity of one company, one billion U.S. dollars easily, I would recommend that you do not see the commercial built here. This is one of the biggest failures in the history of marketing and could not come at a worse time.

Here is the new Nike Commercial features Tiger Woods and the voice of his father, Earl Woods. You must deliver it to Nike, they can add cool spin anything. I’m not entirely sure they’ve done it this time, but where Earl was no angel either.

Tiger Woods Press Conference Live, PONTE VEDRA BEACH: Tiger Woods told family and friends on Friday he was “deeply sorry” for irresponsible and selfish behavior as he broke his self-imposed silence on the sex scandal that engulfed him last year.

The 14-time major champion said he did not know when he would return to golf, but didn’t rule out that it would be this year, in an emotion filled nationally televised address where he repeatedly apologized to family and his legion of fans.

First however, he planned to return to therapy, after already spending 45 days receiving treatment as an in-patient.

Woods had not spoken in public since a mysterious car crash on November 27 triggered revelations about marital infidelity.

Woods spoke from the clubhouse at the TPC Sawgrass, home of the US PGA Tour. About 40 people were in the room, including his mother, Kultilda. His wife, Elin, was not obviously present.
