RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) adjourned on Saturday the hearing of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination case till October 30.
The hearing was postponed due to the absence of the judge hearing this case.
The court was to hear this case today against five prime accused: Aitzaz Shah, Qari Abdul Rashid, Sher Zaman, Husnain Gul and Muhammad Rafaqat.
Due to the absence of Judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan, the judge on duty, Raja Akhlaq Ahmed, postponed the hearing.
Besides, the FIA also did not submit a challan in this case. SAMAA

Doctors team leaves for Hunza
RAWALPINDI: A team of doctors left for Hunza at the behest of Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to provide medical care to the affectees of Ata Abad Lake, Geo News reported Wednesday.
The medical team was dispatched to Hunza by a helicopter.
The 18-member team includes doctors, lady doctors and other paramedical staff. The team is taking along with it the medicines worth Rs2 million.
Hot weather, load shedding makes life miserable
KARACHI: Most parts of the country remained in the grip of hot weather with prolonged power cuts made life miserable for common man.
Sindh is under severe heat wave as temperature has been exceeded 50 degrees centigradein Nawabshah, Sukkur, Jacobabad and Dadu during daytime. The sufferings of common man multiplied by 16 to 18 hours of load shedding in different cities and towns.
Twelve to fifteen hours power cuts along with harsh weather in different areas of Punjab paralysed the routine life. Prolonged load shedding has badly affect the business activities.
Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw also passing through similar situation.
Temperature soars to above 50 degrees centigrade in Sibi and other areas of Balochistan.
Load shedding span has been reached to 12 to 16 hours in Charsada, Mansehra, Batgram and other parts of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw.
FIA files interim challan in BB murder case
RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) filed interim challan against five accused at a local special court in Benazir Bhutto murder case, Geo News reported Wednesday.
Rifaqat, Hasnain, Aitezaz Shah, Abdur Rasheed and Sher Zaman are behind bars for the case.
According to sources, the interim challan said suicide attacker stayed at Hasnain’s residence.
According to the statements of the accused and evidences, it was Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud who hatched the plot for Benazir’s assassination.
The special court adjourned the trial till June 12.
Security Alarm Interrupts SC Proceedings
ISLAMABDA, Pakistan News: The proceedings in the courtroom no 1 of Supreme Court has been resumed after the security clearance from security officials following the mishap of security alarm raising on Monday morning.
According to details, today’s proceedings of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) witnessed panic when all of a sudden the security alarm started ringing in courtroom no 1, Geo news correspondent reported live from SC.
Subsequently, upon the directives of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, all lawyers, attendees and judges vacated the courtroom where the hearing of NAB appeal cases was in progress, he said.
CJ also directed the security officials to figure out reason of raising of security alarm; meanwhile, the search operation was conducted, correspondent added.

No Difference With Judiciary: Kaira
Pakistan News: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira dismissed talks of differences between Pakistan People’s Party and Judiciary. He wondered if elections could not be held in only two constituencies of Punjab, how could mid-term elections be held across the country.
Kaira said PPP has always supported verdicts of the judiciary. “Reaching deadlock in the system is out of question.” He said if a situation of confrontation arises in the country, all the institutions should work together to come out of it. The information minister said the government negotiated with militants everywhere including Swat but eradication of militancy takes time.

NRO came to surface in Musharraf government
Lahore, Pakistan News :- Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that NRO came to surface in Musharraf’s government while Saifur Rehman made fake cases in Nawaz Sharif’s term.
PPP is ready to face the cases in courts. Talking to media in Lala Musa, he said that PML-N ministers accepted that they committed mistakes. He said that Balochistan package would be implemented soon. He said that government did not want to put curbs on media but biased analyses and reports are also against the ethics of journalism.
