Terrorists Attack At Oil Refinery In Karachi, Guard Killed
KARACHI: Security guards of Keamari Oil Refinery foiled a possible terrorist attack at the oil facility that left one guard dead and another injured, reports ARY NEWS.
CCPO Waseem Ahmed told the newsmen that the police and security staff of the facility in the port city foiled the attack by engaging three men Monday night.
The three men had planned to target the Keamari Oil Refinery, but a security guard held them off, preventing them from entering the compound. However, the men eventually overpowered and killed the guard. Another guard also injured in exchange of fire, the channel added.
An encounter with police ensued, and the men – wearing burqas – fled at the end of the encounter. According to the CCPO, the men left behind their three burqas and as many Kalashnikovs, 10 magazines and hand grenades.
Police have cordoned off the area and have launched a search operation to hunt down the men.
