There Should Be Cultural Gethering In US: Aasia
DALLAS: The newly chosen Miss ASIA Chinmayi Ghatraza said today that she was very happy to participate in the cultural functions based on a diversity of cultures of various countries.
The beauty contest was held in city of Dallas of the state of Texas last Friday. She expressed her feelings in a colorful cultural assemblage of the delegations from the 22 Asian countries hosted collectively by the DFW International Alliance here at Dallas.
She was talking to Geo News’ correspondent on the conclusion of the festival.
She said that through such programs one can understand the cultures of other nations and societies. She said that on such rare occasions she gets the pleasure of tasting various dishes from different countries. She said that it was so wonderful to sit under the same roof with other human beings with diverse cultural patterns.
In response to a question as to how she had to go through various phases in winning the title of Miss Asia, she replied that in the beauty contest that was held last month, one girl participated each from one Asian country. She was representing India.
Of the various tests and trials that she had to undergo, the interviews and, art and cultural outlet were important parts of that. Every contestant presented her culture before a panel of 20 judges. It was a very exciting and challenging competition. But she was the final winner.
With regard to the Pakistan India friendship, she said that such a friendship was absolutely necessary. “We belong to the same stock, and my friendship is mostly with Pakistanis. By interacting with them I don’t feel any strangeness. On the contrary I feel as one of them.”
In her message to the Pakistani people, through Jang and Geo News, she said “I love Pakistanis as we are the same people.” She complimented the Pakistani community living in DFW and sent her ““salaam” to them. Lauding the Geo News channel she said that, “you cover every function so well and my best wishes and prayers are with Geo TV and Jang newspaper.”
